    As always, liquid.
I see you use Sonus Motor Kote. Have you ever tried Koch Chemie Motorplast? And if so, how did you find they compare?
I had it chose down to the 2, and just clicked on the Koch just for no reason. I really am liking it alot. But I also have never tried Sonus so don`t know how it compares.

I`ve been using Sonus Motor Kote for years.
I like the soft matte finish it leaves. That "showroom new" look.

I probably will order Koch Chemie Motorplast on my next order.
I`ll let you know my thoughts on the two when I use it.

OK, I purchased some Koch Chemie Motorplast, and here are my thoughts on how they compare.

    MotorPlast:
I have some hoses (radiator etc.) that were grey looking and it darkened them up a lot.
It has a shiny/glossy look. Although it looks shiny it is dry and not greasy like Gunk Shine.
Be sure and wipe off any excess dripping so when it dries/hardens there are no drips.

    Sonus Motor Kote:
It has a nice matte finish (no gloss). Looks great and has a very "showroom new" look.

So which do you like or lean to more for looks?

It depends on the engine bay and the "look" you want.
Shiny and glossy or matte and factory new.

    Merlin:
What was your method for cleaning and protecting/dressing the canvas material of the convertible top?(I assume it`s canvas)

I also see that you are now using CarPro Darkside Tire Dressing for protecting/dressing the tires rather than the "usual" OBSSSSD Tire Dressing - Matte (dressing tires)
Any thoughts on comparing the two? OR did you finally run out of OBSSSSD Tire Dressing?
I do see you are still using CARPRO ReTyre Tire & Rubber Cleaner.

This Bimmer looks, well , like a true Merlin detail. I assume the paint color is dark blue Tanzanite Blue II Metallic and not the Black Sapphire Metallic; the reflected background (sky in particular) sometimes "skew" the real color hue in the photos.

Thanks for the comparison on Sonus (not to be confused with SONAX) Motor Kote and KC (not to be confused with Kimberly-Clark) Motorplast. I (greatly) value your opinion and evaluation on these motor bay finishing products.

I recently did an M4 Competition. Note: Both the M4 and M440i were convertibles.
For the M4 I did Carpro Fabric (2 coats) 1st coat was rubbed in, and cured, then the 2nd coat was sprayed and wiped.
For this M440i I used Ragg Topp cleaner and sealer.

Darkside has a glossier finish (that can be toned down with a mf towel wipe)
OBSSSSD Matte Tire Dressing has a dark (not glossy) rich finish.
CARPRO ReTyre Tire & Rubber Cleaner cleans the rubber really well.

Actually, the M4 was a metallic black and the M44i was a dark blue.

I like both Motor Kote and Motorplast they are totally different in application and looks.
