    1988 Porsche 911 Turbo (930)

    1988 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe (930)
    3.2 liter turbocharged flat 6
    85,109 miles
    4 speed manual
    Guards Red/Tan
    282HP/289TQ
    0-60: 5.7 sec
    Top Speed: 157MPH

A new addition to my clients’ collection. He loves driving this! Vehicle is in excellent mechanical shape and he wanted the paint/body to be cleaned up some to reflect the ‘specialness’ of this vehicle. Paint was a mix of factory single stage and some repainted base/clear panels. Full of swirls, oxidation, thin areas, water spots and some other defects.
    Corrected and protected!

    The ‘details’:
    Adam’s shampoo, tire/rubber/wheel cleaner.
    Medium clay mitt.
    Master Blaster to dry.
    DeFelsko PTG’s to ‘measure’.
    Scangrip lighting to ‘see’.
    Flex and Rupes machinery.
    Misc. pads.
    Griot’s FCC and Perfecting Creams.
Adam’s revive hand polish for some tight areas.
    Optimum panel wipe.
    McKee’s37 graphene tire shine.
    Adam’s glass cleaner.
    Adam’s graphene/ceramic advanced coating.
    Metro vacuum.
    McKee’s37 quick interior detailer.
    Pinnacle leather conditioner.

    Thanks for looking!

    Sizzle Chest:
    1) Assume the pics with your finger in it is pointing out the original single stage paint next to repainted clear/base coat area, judging by the "gloss" look between them.
2a) Are those Griots`s Garage PFM microfiber drying towels with the red residue on them used for wiping off the polish??
2b) What make and type of pad are you using for polishing the red single-stage paint?
    3) Would some areas of the single-stage red paint have benefited from Megs MG #7 Show Car Glaze application? That question would also apply to the black-painted trim (I assume its painted and not annodized.)
    4) Did you do anything "special" to detail the black plastic trim?
    5) Is the Momo steering wheel a Porsche-factory option or an owner-installed add-on?? That was a very desirable item back in that day.
    6) This car has the "traditional" 5-spoke Porsche deep-dish rims. I do not think the era-correct BBS full-face "lacy mesh" rims were an available Porsche option on this car that year, according my Google-search.

Excellent detailing workmanship on another iconic Porsche 911 Turbo, especially being Guards Red . I have a large framed photo/pic of that color car I bought at a rummage sale sitting in my garage. No, its not hanging up on the wall. The "garage" is much too Plain-Jane (IE, unfinished) to have it grace its walls.

2a) Are those Griots`s Garage PFM microfiber drying towels with the red residue on them used for wiping off the polish?? They are not PFM`s, I really don`t remember what they are, I feel like saying they are Cobra`s or something similar. I just have a few of them left and didn`t mind throwing some out...
2b) What make and type of pad are you using for polishing the red single-stage paint? I used a Meg`s cut and polish foam pads on this.
    3) Would some areas of the single-stage red paint have benefited from Megs MG #7 Show Car Glaze application? That question would also apply to the black-painted trim (I assume its painted and not annodized.) I don`t believe so, it wasn`t really `dry` or begging to be lathered up!
    4) Did you do anything "special" to detail the black plastic trim? It is indeed painted. Nope. I didn`t do anything to it but a quick light polish. Paint is super thin on those pieces.
    5) Is the Momo steering wheel a Porsche-factory option or an owner-installed add-on?? That was a very desirable item back in that day. Owner, perhaps dealer installed aftermarket wheel. It`s a great wheel!!

Thank you! Now go hang that picture up in your garage!!!!
