I use similar saying all the time. "A little [bonus money] is better than ZERO money" - or whatever works.
"Do it once, do it right" is along the lines of "measure twice, cut once"! haha
I can`t say how accurate the PTG I have is, but what I can say is that it`s proven to be quite consistent. I sort of compare it to a chassis dyno. Not all measure at the same numbers, but if you`re using the same dyno for before/after, you can have some idea as to what`s going on.
Here`s a thread I did a while back. Toward the end is a table with my measured readings. Aside from a few outliers, the PTG gave me some pretty consistent readings!
