Hammered SRT10 Ram - Restored to its former glory

A friend of mine was doing some mechanical work on this truck and posted a picture of it. I was in shock when I saw the condition of the paint on and messaged him about seeing if the owner would be interested in have the paint corrected on it. After going to my buddies shop to do a little test spot on the vehicle the owner decided he would like to have it done. This truck has led a rough life being used as a shop/work truck for the last several years. The owner however recently picked up another truck for this purpose and wanted to have this back looking respectable like it should and is considering selling it. At this point it received a multi stage paint correction and quick engine compartment detail.

    On to the pictures.

    Exterior Before Photos

    Wash & Decon Process
I started the process cleaning the wheels which were just powder coated black. The wheels were cleaning using Megs APC and the tires were cleaned using Tuf-Shine.

The vehicle was then treated with IronX before being foamed.

After being washed it was wash a final time using my Nanoskin Wash Mit. The horizontal panels on this entire vehicle felt like sandpaper. It took me almost 45 minutes with the Nanoskin to get these panels clean and smooth.

    Paint Correction Process

All the machines were going to get a workout on this vehicle.

    50/50 shot of the hood.

Before photo of the driver side front fender. Every panel on this truck had heavy swirling and a fair amount of RIDS.

This is the fender after being compounded with Griots Fast Correcting Cream and MF pad using my Rupes 15.

Before photo of the driver side of the bed.

After being compounded with the Boss G21.

Closer before shot of the bed side

After shot of the same area.

before of the tailgate. notice how flat and dull the finish looks

Tailgate has much more gloss and depth after being compounded.

the rear bumper appears to be flat with not much gloss prior to correction

the paint on the bumper now has a good amount of depth and gloss after being compounded.

The passenger side front fender prior to correction.

passenger front fender after being compounded.

50/50 shot of the passenger side rear door.

This picture shows the marring that caused during the compounding process. The top portion of the picture was polished using Hyper Polish.

    Finished Product
This vehicle was finished off with Blackfire Blackice

    Engine Comparment

You can see this V10 beast certainly needed a bath.

Really incredible work on this SRT10 truck. The swirls were bad and the paint correction came out great.

I like these posts where I get to see the SRT`s getting some love (I`m a fan of the SRT brand).

Great write up and work! I always appreciate seeing a trashed out vehicle returned to its former glory. I hope the owner will bring it back to you often for maintenance. You increased the value of his ride immensely.
