BMW 328, Honda Accord

2006 BMW 328. Owner picked this car up used a while back, thought it was about time to get it properly detailed. Really could use a full correction but its a daily driver (he has a long commute) so we decided that for now the best course of action would be a good compounding step followed by polishing. Felt it would clean the paint up nicely and give it some much needed depth. Maybe in the spring if he decides to keep it for the long term, he might be interested in going all out on it.

Meguiars #105 using a 5" Meguiars microfiber cutting pad and my PC 7424 XP

3D HD Polishing with an Optimum microfiber polishing pad

Armor All on tires/fenderwells



Had a few more pictures but they came out too pink to use. Fine line of adjustment getting the red to look red without the background being too dark with my camera.

2006 Honda Accord with nighthawk pearl paint. I`ve been taking care of this Accord on and off since new, probably 2 years since I`ve detailed it the last time. The owner has kids now, moved in the last year and basically, life is getting in the way of him being able to devote the time to the car he needs to to keep up the finish on such soft paint. He has decided that at this point in time, protection is more important than perfection. Luckily, nighthawk pearl is so soft I was able to get out much of the swirling (but not the deeper RIDS) with one step.



The paint is by no means perfect but for one step, I think this is a pretty dramatic improvement.

Pretty big improvements on both of those cars. Especially if there not corrections! Nighthawk pearl should come with a waiver, "If you don`t/can`t take care of it, it will be removed from your possession"! Great transformation, guys!

First few times I did that Accord, the clear was really sticky. Needed to use polishes with a lot of oils in them (like Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze or #205) to have any chance to wipe the polish off. Surprised that HD Speed worked so well, maybe the stickiness subsides with age?
