This is my neighbor`s gorgeous `97 993 Carrera 4S with a whopping 26,000 miles. Prepare yourselves for the least exciting before & after ever. The photos do this car absolutely no justice. Between no sun, silver paint, and the photography skill of a chimpanzee, the quality of the car doesn`t come through very well. Plus, it wasn`t in bad shape to begin with. The paint had a bit of oxidation which `whitened` the paint. Not much contamination either, but the paint lacked the `snap` of the gloss that belonged there. Why can`t all cars be this wonderful to work on?
Process:
- Clayed w/ Sonus green clay
- HD UNO with a Meguiars MF cutting pad
- Meguiars D301 Meguiars MF finishing pad
- HD Poxy with a black foam finishing pad
The UNO 3.0 finished down very well, but since I had just gotten the D301, I figured I`d give it a try and was impressed. The improvement in gloss was noticeable, but I`m anxious to try it on a dark color where I think it will be even more obvious. I`ll get to see the car again tomorrow, and look forward to see how the Poxy looks after having a couple days to cure, as I noticed a nice improvement on my own Arctic Silver car. Anyway, on to the (underwhelming) pictures.
