Just completed detail and clearfilm prep, the vehicle had a few areas that needed some attention but overall a very nice example from Porsche.

DA sand scratches from the factory.

    Pre correction readings taken.

    Clay step.

    DA sand scratches corrected.

Factory touch up paint to be used.

A chip in the paint on the edge of the tow hook opening needed touch up.

Vehicle ready for Premier to do thier part.

Light marring on rear bumper, was fully expecting DA sand scratches but there were none.

    RIDS on drivers rear quarter.

Front quarters were not wrapped , thus no correction was done @ Premier. DA sand scratches on left front quarter.

    After.

If you are a "Carguy" this reflection is something to make you smile.

Sand scratches near Factory stoneguard film.

    Corrected during compounding step.

    Defects on rear "Clamshell".

    Compounded out.

Defects on the spokes of the gloss black wheels.

    After medium polishing step.

Cluster of scratches on "A" pillar.

    After.

Engine bay needed very little, Porsche tightness.

    Interior pics.

    Finished pics.

Car was not going outside until Monterey events week, so took some pics with the "Infratech" light.

Premiers new film has almost no texture.............very nice.

What a beauty! I really love those retro-styled wheels on the new 911s, and with your hard work the whole car just pops!

Are those door sills back-lit? Almost looks like it from the pics....

Definitely looks like the sills are lit up to me, but I find it odd the "Speedster" seems much brighter.

Yes the sills are backlighted, the sills are "Black Chrome" as well for a very nice look. This cars goes for $200,000.00 dollars and is essentially a "Carrera GTS" but after looking at the car up close the top configuration was engineered very nicely and the interior had supple leather throughout.

This car will be a "Keeper" for my client as he loves Porsches.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments even though I did not "Share with the community", recieved a e-mail from a member here who was quite upset I did not give a "Detailed" itemized product & step by step tutorial on what was done so he could learn................the comment was "Why post if you do not help anyone?", well I have good reasons for this and why is it that when others do not share all the products and what they do they are not called on it?? as I have yet to see someone get upset with Paul Dalton for his omission of these steps.

Hopefully I can cover this again for the umpteenth time................................

I post because I am a "Carguy" and some enjoy looking at the best cars in the world looking thier best, also it is the the onus of someone to aquire certain skills and "Knowhow" on thier own.............as I did without the benefit of "Computer whizbangerie" where almost all the information is there with just a click away.

I have shared in the past certian things and products I use, and get dozens of PM`s and calls weekly from all over the place and most of those inquires are respectful in nature but some are "Show me how to do it right now" PM`s or calls in nature which I liken to someone coming to your house while you are eating a meal and ask for some of your meal...................without offering to pay!.

Two weeks ago I had a guy ask over a dozen questions and about that time I said "I have a deadline on this BMW and I have to get back to it" and the guy said "Oh I just have a few more questions..." and I let that drop for about twenty seconds................. "Bob are you there?" my reply "Yes" he replied" can I ask a few more questions?" I said "No".

I admire passion about the trade as much as anyone, but some of you guys out there have no gumption to find answers on your own, I realize something is new to everyone at some point but not "Putting out" any effort just get`s me going everytime. This site is like a book, you need to read and absorb all the information contained therein and you will get out of it what you put in as far as effort and desire to learn.

I ask this question....................what business can you call up, especially a business that you do and sometimes in the same area and that person will "Share all the steps on how they do it".....................whether it be a "Dry cleaner" business or a "Shoe store". It is funny as I cannot remember making a call like this in the recent past or not so recent past either, I have shared tips many times but do not seem to get any credit for this ever but I am always "Banged" for what I do not say, also when I do share something it is not "Sell anything" or link to a blog or book or even a "System".

Well Bob, she came out beautiful even though you didn`t "share with the community."

"The only way I can ever get correction is by looking up what others used on a similar model" is not a proud achievement to those that might complain about lack of a product list. Let me also point out that this helps to limit / reduce brand-whoring.

    Bob,

That was an amazing detail. I love the fact the guy has a stainless steel airstream as well. That blue is gorgeous on a Porsche. Never mind about the haters. As someone who is new to detailing I always appreciate when a question is answered however anyone who would give you **** for not supplying them with the sum compilation of all your experience within a PM or 2 is a jackball.

It`s great to see someone who understands this position. It amazes me when the newbs and some who claim to be pros ***** and moan about not sharing and helping the community.

I detail my wife`s car and I share a bed with her and I don`t even tell her what my prodicts and processes are, so why do these people think I will share it with them?

When the community starts paying my bills I may entertain the thought of helping the community, until then I will continue to keep all of my products and prcesses close to the vest.

If anyone has an issue with this then you can just skip my posts, I could care less what a bunch of detailers on a detailing forum think about me. What really matters is what my family, friends and clients think.

The "Me" generation needs to get off their *** and learn to do for themselves and stop relying on someone else to figure it out for them.

One thing I`ve always liked about these forums is the sharing of information and the willingness to help others in need. I have PM`ed you before, Bob, and received a polite and succinct answer to my question. I appreciate that, thank you.

What kills me is how someone would email and berate a professional for not divulging all his secrets. If a pro wants to answer a question of mine, cool. Thanks. If not, I understand that you may not want to broadcast to the world all the little tricks you learned through experience. I`m cool with that too. Any industry will have its all-stars and its also-rans, and you can`t expect those at the top to just give away what put them there.

And as for that guy on the phone.....really? You shouldn`t call ANYONE at work, regardless of what they do, and try to take them away from their job at hand. That`s a whole other level of self-centered and rude that I`m glad I don`t understand. Even buddies that I call at work will tell me when they have to get back to work. That`s it, end of conversation. There is no "just a minute," they`re doing their JOB!!! Come on, people.

Oh yeah, and awesome car Bob!
