I was fortunate to have Bret come by for a day to help. Joey came for a few hours too. Thanks guys!

That car was incredibly difficult to polish. I can`t recall harder paint. I was compounding an area of 6" x 6" at a time, making numerous passes and constantly checking my work with the Brinkmann. It was very tedious work, made even more challenging as the car was black.

Bryan, you really gutted out that one. I don`t think there are many detailers with the skill and patience to finish that car properly. How many hours did you have on the hood? Eight?

Bret, The level of defects and the hardness of the paint, did not lend itself to anything simple.

I think the schedule went something like this:

Sat-Meet client at airport for pickup.

    Sun-Wash, clay.

Mon-After 3 hours of sleep as I worked the night before, happy to see you arrive. 18 man hours later, I had the hood and half of the roof compounded, while you did the same to the right side panels.

Tues-I started at 9am and worked till 12:30am. My interior specialist put in at least 4 hours on the interior.

Wed-Started at 7:30a and delivered the car at noon to the client at the airport. He walked around the car for 2-3 mins in the bright sun, all the while shaking his head and declared, "I dont see any swirl marks left!"

Bret, I very much appreciate your skill and understanding of the craft!

Way to knock it out guys! That poor car had some major life sapped out of it, but with some quality time in the right hands she`s back to new again. No doubt another happy owner!

When guys like you spend that kind of time on a single panel it just goes to show what this stuff can be like!

I love those wagons. I didn`t know these things had paint that difficult? Looks great. Hopefully you didn`t work Bret too hard!
