2011 Cadillac SRX. Brand new, owner got it last week. Her boss decided to have me come out and give it a "real wax job". :lol

Overall, it was in pretty good shape but there were water spots on the tailgate under the rear window and on top of the bumper, plus someone put some rotary swirls on the tailgate under the rear window and on the driver`s side A pillar. I talked it over with the lady`s boss and he agreed that the dealer should be on the hook for the tailgate so to just get the swirls off the A pillar and wax it for now. I guess when the dealer screws up the tailgate, the lady will probably make the dealer pay me to fix it.

    ONR wash, Mother`s clay

3M Ultrafina and blue Ultrafina pad using my Dewalt rotary at 1000-1800-1000 rpms on the A pillar

Detailer`s Pride Poli-Coat Sealant to protect

    Armor All on the tires/fenderwells

I normally would have removed the obnoxious dealer`s emblem but the owner said the dealership told her something about that and since she couldn`t remember that I should just leave it there for now. She normally has her vehicles washed at one of the local tunnel washes, so I felt that Poli-Coat would be best since it holds up so well to harsh wash chemicals. Looks pretty good too.

Only a few pictures, it was lunchtime and the parking lot was a flurry of activity.

2005 Jaguar S Type-R. Stock supercharged engine with a Magnaflow exhaust. Owner plans on adding an intake and changing the pulley on the blower next.

Overall, considering the owner said he hasn`t had the time to take proper care of the finish and it hadn`t been waxed in a long time, the paint was pretty decent for being nearly 6 years old. His major concern was the light buffer swirls on the hood and the someone heavier buffer swirls on the trunk lid. A mechanic at the dealership rubbed something off the car with a dirty shop rag and scratched it, so to fix it, they put rotary swirls in the paint instead.

The goal was to take out the buffer swirls and protect the finish for the winter. The main road that leads into his subdivision is under construction and for the foreseeable future, he will have to cross a dirt road until the construction is finished. No sense going too nuts right now.

    Before:

    After:

Believe it or not, this was accomplished with just one DA polishing step. I hadn`t even taken before shots of the trunk lid since I figured the DA wouldn`t do much and I`d have to use the rotary.

Optimum Hyper Polish using an orange Optimum cutting pad and my Meguiars G110 DA polisher and some slow passes using a fair amount of pressure. The paint is on the soft side, but I didn`t get any marring so one step was enough to bring the finish to the desired level.

    Final process:

    Exterior

    ONR wash, Mothers clay

Optimum Hyper Polish with an orange Optimum cutting pad and my Meguiars G110

Detailer`s Pride Poli-Coat Sealant for protection

    Armor All on the tires/fenderwells

    Interior:

Woolite/water at 20:1 dilution to clean the vinyl and leather

BioKleen Traffic Lane Cleaner at 32:1 dilution to clean the carpets

Optimum Protectant Plus to dress the vinyl

Leather Master`s Leather Vital to condition the leather
