Hey everybody, just wanted to share a quick write up on a cool car I was able to detail recently. Nothing to extensive, wasn`t able to take many pics because of time restraints.

Got a call to detail this 56` BMW 2 days before it was going to the concourse d`elegance show in Dana Point, Ca. I was offered to take this job last year but was unavailable and well, once you see the pictures you will see it got put into the wrong "detailer`s" hands. I was able to correct the paint fairly easy because of its soft s/s laquer finish but it was still a long 14 hour day. Only had 1 day to do as much as I could, all though it wasn`t as perfect as I would have liked, it looked just a little bit better..:p

First step was washing the car with a mix of dawn and CG citrus wash n` clear with a soft sheep skin mitt and DI water...

In this pic you can see half the hood is stripped of all previous waxes etc..

White walls were looking very yellow, Used some Meg`s Super Degreaser to get them bright n` white again..

Car was clayed with Claymagic fine grade & CG synthetic spray followed with by an IPA wipedown.

I then inspected the car for defects and to check the true condition of the paint. There was multiple touch ups done on all the edges of almost every panel. I then taped the car very thoroughly using a variety of 3M green tape, blue, and meguiars new tan to ensure all edges were safe for a good polishing.

After getting the car in the garage with the halogens/brinkman swirl finder, the true paint condition showed. A lot of halograms/swirling...the whole car was covered with this.

Did a test spot with a less aggressive approach as always with menzerna power finish/orange pad & the pc.

As you can see it provided a great result.

    [IMG][/IMG]

I then proceeded with the rest of the car followed by menz fpII, CG EZ-creme, and topped with CG 50/50.

    Before..

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

End Result...I had to detail the day of the show so I wasn`t able to shoot some pics of it at the show.

Well, it turns out to truly be a small world. Just talking to a neighbor friend at my work, I ended up coming up with a pic from the show. Long story short, had no idea another person at their work was a fellow car enthusiast, had gone to the show and just happened to snap a handful of pics including the car I detailed...I was pretty happy since I was unable to find any pics of the car at the show, or was i able to attend. So thought I would share with you all as well.
