This is easily the worst car I`ve come across since I began detailing (only 10-12 months ago)

Products used are virtually all by Final Inspection, an Australian based detailing company.

    Before:

Now for the fun before shots! :

FI Orange (light cutting pad) and Menz 203s ready for a 50/50 test:

    After two passes:

    One pass:

Quick wipedown with FI GPC (General Purpose Cleaner, similar to APC) and a Jamb MF:

I was not able to achieve a perfect finish with the materials I had, in the time I had. Which I am very unhappy about, as it seems like a waste of time to me to spend ~12-14 hours on the paintwork alone, only to finish with an imperfect surface, but I`ve learnt from my mistake and will be better prepared from now on.

    Exhausts Before:

After cleaning with PWC (Power Wheel Cleaner, non acidic) and polishing with Autosol, the inside of the exhaust are painted matt black:

While I had the Autosol out I attacked the Tow ball, Before:

    After

Boot Before, you can see evidence of a car wash broom here:

    After:

    Various Befores:

    Starting to look black again:

Completed, 3 passes of Menz 203s on FI Orange, single pass of Menz 106ff on FI Black (Final Finishing), LSP is FI SEAL:

What was left in the worst areas:

The worst panel on the car, before/after:

Here are the daylight final shots, I don`t have any direct sunlight photos, as there was no direct sunlight :p

There was only a few stains inside which cleaned up well with GPC and a GPC MF. The drivers floor mat is worn badly, but it looks alot better than it did.

I`ll work on my write ups abit more, I should have a couple of details coming in the next week or so, and I`ll be sure to take more photos to document the process better.

    Cheers :buffing:

Haha, thanks mate, only having 203s and a light cutting pad did turn it into a long few days, but it was worth it in the end.

cheers, I actually saw the owners, and the car last night, they said they were still really happy with the car, and that the sealant has been sheeting everything off nicely, they have only hosed it down a few times since the detail (~month ago)

    Great turn around.

Also a very cool car. I know several of us in the US are jealous of the cars you have down under.

Nice job on a hammered Falcon with a great result.

Some of those scratches weren`t going anywhere further without a bit of sanding I reckon.

Not a bad effort from an Aussie :p:p

Thanks mate, it is a cool car indeed, the engine is capable of some serious power too.

We don`t get the Focus RS in Aus, we get an XR5 Turbo, which is similar to the RS without the awesome body kit

They don`t come here either, we get the XR5 as above but the RS is private import only and hard to get. I did meet a guy who has good contacts in the UK though and he`s bought 5 of them in for resale. Cool little rockets. but they`re 90K to buy.
