I get a call the other day from a fellow detailer Matt the owner of TYRA Detailing asking me if I could give him a hand on this daily driver (trashed VW black paint) because he just didn`t have enough time to do the job alone. Matt told me that the whole front was just repainted and the bodyshop just wanted a quick "fluff" (I think he called it). Once the car was dropped off Matt looked at the paint and kindly pointed out the true condition of the car to the painter who said they didn`t realize that it was that bad (WTF???).

Anyway, this was just going to be a regular detail with no paint correction. I called Scottwax anyway and asked him about the paint as I knew he used to take care of one for a long time and was very familiar with the paint. Well Scott was right on the money.

Rock hard paint and very badly damaged from all the automated car washes and what not....

So I show up at Matt`s shop next morning and the first thing he tells me is that he washed the car the day before (I knew that already) AND polished out the trunk that was a repaint as well. It corrected very easy with 105/205. I check the trunk and I see a 100% swirl free finish. So I am thinking: how are we going to "just detail" the rest?????

We only had 1 day to polish and we did the best to "fluff" the paint.

Definately not full correction but there wouldn`t be a reason to anyway. This car will go back to the tunnel wash in a week. :woohoo:

Great turn around Thomas! I don`t understand why people with such nice cars will run them through a tunnel wash.

Much props Thomas, nice work as usual. Sad that a Phantom is getting cared for by a tunnel wash, for the price of the car, professional car care fees shouldn`t be a problem for the owner.
