I think the slowdown is partly because of the lack of new products and how horrible the weather was for much of the US this winter.

I personally have detailed my share of cars, however, have not posted any pics yet, I mainly read and ask questions. If and when I do post pics, until I feel that I can call my self a pro, I`d stick to the click and brag. Which I think more beginners should do.

    This.

while I like the exotic cars themselves, imo i see this as a double problem.

1: detailing exotics (mercedes sl, etc) and super exotics (exclusive tuner editions like brabus), usually don`t amount to a real detail post, they amount to status symbols.

2: personally, I`m far more impressed with torture details than anything younger than 5 years. I`m not much of a contributor myself, but honestly, i`m not going to learn much on a post for newer car being detailed because I only work on my own car(s). My cars aren`t that new, my newest in an 04.

"See these swirls (20 pictures) 50/50 (15 pictures) NO swirls (30) pictures, drive me freaking crazy. Infact, I really don`t even look in the Pro C`s anymore because of the tidalwave of these posts. Todd took it to a new level two or three years ago and now every guy with a buffer is trying to out do it.

The thing I like about Todd`s, David`s and others (we know who they are) is the little things that are explained. Faded black trim, louvers, door jams, engine bays. I think that is what all Pro`s are on here to see. Is there a new technique or product that will improve the look or make things easier. We correct paint all week long. The last thing I want to see is another freaken door panel.

I enjoy looking at cool cars. Show me a couple shots of the finished car. I still admire the work of fellow detailers and if you are excited about the opportuntiy of working on your first Ferrari or Lambo, that is cool too. But the endless posts with little info for the sake of you bragging is really starting to drag around here.

fergnation you summed it up for me.

One thing that I also have noticed is some people with many or more posts than me and I have never heard of them. So they must be posting the "Great job" in all the C&B. An easy way to raise post count without adding anything to this forum.

The Click N` Brag section is promoted as this: "Come show us your car. We love to see the end result of fine detail. For showoffs and car photographers only".

The section is for detailers to show-off their work and brag about. It`s not meant to be a tutorial on detailing. While I try to give as much info as possible in my write-ups so people will actually get something out of it, it`s really up to the person who`s thread it is. I would say the "car detailing" section is for how-to`s and questions regarding techniques and so forth.

    Am I right?

My thoughts are many folks can post work they never even did. That is possible too. Anyone can BS their way around. That may explain why they never have any verbiage, its all BULL-----. You may be able to walk the walk, BUT can you talk the talk????? Yes, unless its BS. Will the real IMPOSTERS please stand-up? You know who you are.

I third or fourth the notion..........I guess "Glare" is capitalizing off my picture. Lots of folks benefit off the tailwinds of the "excellent performers" in any industry. If you go to "expert auto polishing" from any search engine I always come up on top or near the top. Many people pay to be at the top.....Like the advertiser who latched on here. The truth is you CANT pay to be the best. I have said it a million times.....the top spots are reserved and "EARNED" every day. I dont pay a CENT to be at the top of my game. Paintxpert
