So we detailed this Ford Mustang GT a few months ago when it was about 14-20 degrees outside and for us it set the record for longest day spent detailing without a major rest period. We arrived at 10:30 am and didn`t leave until 3:30 am the next DAY! When we arrived we found a beautiful, clean Mustang GT:

Immediately I feel in love with the perfect stance and great wheel choice. The paint was nice and smooth, allowing us to skip the clay barring step all-together. Ahhhh it`s great to have an easy job once in a while, right?

WRONG!! Can anyone see the major issue in the above picture? Take a look at the rear bumper...

    Here`s a better look:

:nervous2: An insane amount of deep swirls had attacked the entire rear of this beautiful vehicle. Take a look at the other side of the bumper:

    And the rear quarter panel:

    The Story

This Mustang GT has actually won 4 trophies and has been on the cover of a few Ford magazines. It`s supercharged with 497 horsepower to the rear wheels, making this beast a bit of a sleeper if it wasn`t for those gorgeous wheels and lowered stance. It only has about 3800 miles on the clock as well! With such low mileage, autopians must question how this vehicle got to the level it is now. Well, the vehicle was put on a trailer for a 400 mile journey to the new owner`s house. During the journey, the plastic tarp actually came LOOSE. This resulted in the tarp flopping around violently in the wind at speed, resulting in heavy swirling and scratching of mainly the rear portions of the vehicle, especially the bumper. A sad event but CP Car Detailing isn`t going to run away and hide...

With our arsenal of rotary buffers, random orbit polishers, pads, compounds, and polishes, we fought back to bring this beast back to showroom condition!

I spent about two hours polishing and polishing and polishing these heavily damaged areas to ensure they are restored back to new condition. Here are some pics:

    Some 50/50 shots:

    Enjoying some sun!

The only picture I have of the vehicle outside. At this point only the rear quarter panel has been completely polished:

After this photo Christian and I focused on getting the job done. Hours later, here are some of the shots we took...

    A random after shot:

One of my favorite shots all time:

By this time our halogen light had failed, our metabo rotary kept overheating, and even our "indestructible" 3 inch backing plate had gone to bits and pieces, we are proud to have brought this vehicle back to life. In the spring we look forward to getting more pictures and adding more protection to this beauty. Thank-you for looking!
