We all talk about getting swirls out because of improper washing or the tunnels of death, yet for years I fixed alot of cars that came from an auction a dealership where I had worked and was blown away by how people wheel these cars up like this and ship them. Its can be really hard fixing others mistakes. These pictures show before and after, but they don`t show is the hard work put in to it. the countless hours massage the paint to true perfection theway guys do. they don`t show the sweat put into it. I`d say you guys are true champions! you should feel like them yankees! lol Very top notch.

    Thanks Barry!!!!!!!

It`s so true, after reading the write up Rick posted here, it honestly looks like it was just an average correction job, but I`ll tell you it was a friggin nightmare from hellll. Rick and I could not wait till this car was finished.

At first it was so deeply embedded with silicone fillers, full strength degreaser would not even budge it out of the paint. We then tried wool and all it was doing was sitting and spinning creating NO heat at all. It was not even budging the swirls 1% at 3000 rpm.

I then grabbed some special solvent and let the entire car soak for hours and removed it. The paint was starting to get that squeak to it. We then tried a rotory with wool and finally got heat and correction followed short after. Hooorraayyyy!!!!!! 1 step down, 4 more to go.

The fun factor on this car was a big ole 0.

Then 85rd was acting up crazy (wierd) on this paint too, I just stayed focused for many long hours along with having lots and lots of patience trying to perfect the very last 2% of perfection process.:bawling: Jet black can be special at times.

Almost :sign, but we won after the long battle through Jet Black Sea.

The after pics do the car no justice at all. When we rolled it out into the sun, we both just inspected it every inch and both came up having very huge grins on our faces. This car came out beyond spectacular!!!!!

I just want to thank everyone personally for all the nice comments and I appreciate it very much!!!!!

The best part of doing jobs like this is that Rick and I are so very precise and consistant with each other. He takes one side, and I the other and just make it happen till it`s perfect. We think so much like each other it is scary.

Holy mother of God. These pictures need to sent to BMW to put in their sales brosures. I can`t believe my own eyes. Wow! Ryan said this thing was hammered and came out flawless, but this is insane. Mega props to the dynamic duo once again for gracing the pages of Autopia with this art work.

No detailer should make more on job than you. Maybe a FEW should make about as much, but no one should make more. All your work is absolute perfection.

great work - truly fantastic. Riddle me this batman - how the he!! dealer let a car like this (or any car for that matter) leave a lot in this condition. The dealer should be truly ashamed.

Auto Concierge- Thanks Bob! The GT3 was in for a new car prep and a clear-bra, which I will posting up soon. As for the BMW, what a nightmare!! I have worked on lots of BMW`s, but this one definitely takes the cake for the most difficult. It went from a one or two day detail and turned into a week long detail. Not fun!!

fishbonezken- Thank you so much! For the most part, all of our work is full paint corrections and most of the cars are black to boot. We don`t get much of a break at Unique Car Care!!

jimmie jam- Thanks buddy! I`m just glad we were able to get it looking like new again for the customer.

dsms- Thanks Dave! The sun shots definitely don`t lie, that`s for sure!

OakesDetail- Thank you! It was no easy task, but somehow we pulled it off! Thanks for the referral too!

rydawg- Ryan, what can I say... Thank you so much for all of the help with this car and all of the cars we`ve pumped out this summer! Now I really need to get into gear for the fall, which I know is going to be insanely busy. You and I both need to get caught up on write-ups too!

Got_Leather- Thanks DJ! It was great talking with you the other day. This is the car I was complaining about...

evolutionwc3- Thank you! I always try to get full sun shots if possible. I got lucky on this one!

snowskate- Thank you Jack! I really hope the dealer makes good on this, since the owner was very happy with their service up until this happened.

Power Finish is a very versatile product and can be used for heavy cutting as well as finishing, dependingon paint hardness. We used Power Finish with the black wool pads in order to level the paint and remove all of the RIDS. PF has excellent has excellent lubrication and worked great on this particular paint, where a traditional compound would have really done a number on it, since it was so soft. The 105 knocked out the haziness from the wool pad, but left some slight jiggle marks in the finish. The Power Finish on a foam pad acted like a medium / finish polish, which left the finish ready for the final polishing step.

As for the degreaser, we used `Kleens`, which is made by Trans-Mate.

Sorry I missed you. You`ll have to stop by next time you are in the area.

    michakaveli- Thanks!

Shaun Carollo- Thank you! Yes, the before pictures are a little disturbing to say the least!

Hemin8r- Thank you very much! The owner is talking with the dealer as we speak to see if they will cover the cost of the detail. We`ll see what happens...

98Vette- Thanks! I don`t envy you for having a JB BMW. I definitely couldn`t deal with having to keep it looking nice all the time, since it marrs up so easy. Maybe the next car should be silver!

bufferbarry- Barry, thanks for the very kind words! You are absolutely right. It is easy to look at before & after pictures, but not too many people understand exactly how much work goes into a job like this, especially when you are trying to fix someone elses screw-up!

Apollo_Auto- Haha... Thanks Jesse! I`m glad you enjoyed the write up and I think it`s safe to say that you might be a little more excited than the customer was! LOL! I might have been a little freaked out if the owner came to pick up the car with a stiffy...

    corrswitch- Thank you very much!

tdekany- Thanks Thomas! It was supposed to be a secret!

    DaGonz- Thanks!

PresdntialDtail- Yup, there was no easy way out of this one! Thank god I had Ryan to help!

RaskyR1- Thanks Rasky! I hope he gets his $$ back too!

MotorCity- Thanks for taking ther time to read it!

David Fermani- Thanks David! I wish you were here to have helped us! So when are gonna come visit us in Boston?

drew.haynes- Thanks Drew! That really means a lot! i think Ryan and I do some of the best work around, but are still on the cheap side. The business is growing more & more every year, so I guess we must be doing something right!

    Thats Fresh- Thanks! I agree!

Petrucci_M3- Thank you! That picture says it all!

    jswift2000- Amazing indeed! Thanks!

    Jokeman Haha... You aren`t kidding!

    gmblack3a- Thanks Bryan! How`s everything??
