A full new vehicle detail of a 2010 Camaro SS, this vehicle was purchased 4 days ago and has been with me for the last 2 days. Unfortunately it suffered some defects and such from the time between the factory and the dealership, it is also guilty for having really soft clear coat making defects even easier.

Car belongs to a good friend of mine, who`s Mustang I did a week ago. He ordered this car a year ago, just arrived this week. Can`t wait till we go out some night this weekend in it!

    Process:

    Full wash, Clay bar, rewash

Menzerna Intensive Polish - only on flat panels (hood, trunk and roof) - Orange pad

Menzerna 203 - Follow up of flat panels and the rest of the car.

    Optimum Poli-Seal - cured for 15 hours.

Dodo Juice Supernatural - Pure Caranauba wax - Bare hands

    Rewashed and spray waxed.

    Before Photos

These picture were taken after the wash, clay bar and rewash of the vehicle. Pictures show the defects that look like hard water stains, scuffs and some smudging.

Notice the round water spots and the dull look to the paint

    Before/After Defect on Fender

    Before/After Hood

After of Interior - Carpets treated with Xyilon carpet protector (basically wax for carpets)

Thanks guys! The condition wouldn`t have been much better had the dealer tried to "detail" it unfortunately, it was better off coming like it was straight to me.

From what I understand about the car industry, often cars sit outside for a while before delivery. And if you are on this forum, you know that dealers straight up suck in paint care. This is the norm, no?

Yeah, I have worked for Aston Martin/Jaguar/LandRover and Ford, I ordered my own car and in the 2 weeks it took to deliver the car looked like it had been driven through a Michigan winter...in May lol.

I would, but definitely they have to lower the price or pay for the detail. I`ve seen very few (counted w one single hand) dealerships that actually care about the paint

Good job on that thing... Even though I love black cars this specific model of camaro I love it in the bumble bee yellow chevy has. vroom! lol

Well, most of the dealers in my area seem to be the excepton. One particular dealer that deals with Toyota,, Lexus, Scion and Chevrolet consistantly deliver their detailed new cars in top condition even though their holding lots are all outside. My wife and I recently took delivery of a 2009 Scion with absolutley no problems.

When a BRAND NEW car comes off the lot with swirls and RIDS it makes me wonder where its been or been through.

Nice paint on that Chevy. I have seen some black Yukons around here with some horrendous orange peel. The paint condition seemed fine but you could not see crisp reflections.
