You might recall that DetailingGurus detailed the Uber M3 in March; The owner gave us a call, asking us to help prepare the car for a serious go at possibly winning the Hot Import Nights show the following weekend in Concord, NC. The car was in decent shape, with no oxidation whatsoever, very few water spots, but quite a few swirls. A show car that receives a lot of preening and pruning is inevitably going to see some light surface scratches reappear, but a strict regimen of wipedowns with quick detail spray and microfiber towels will go a long way towards ensuring the owner has more success in maintaining a swirl-free finish in the future.

    Abbreviated Detail Summary:

    • ONR wash
    • Sonus Medium (Gray) Clay / ONR Clay Lube
    • Edge 2k Yellow 50/50 twisted wool/acrylic with Menzerna SIP, 1300rpm
    • Edge 2k White Foam pad with Menzerna 106ff, 1500rpm
    • PrepSol paint cleaner
    • Natty`s Blue Paste Wax

I certainly wouldn`t have traveled 350 miles round trip for the family sedan! I`m definitely honored to be trusted with its care.

California Dusters will do that. He promised to throw it in the trash.

Also, he had a water spot problem and took the car to a local detailer in an attempt to remove the spots. He said it came back with much of the water spots removed, but considerable swirling. And that detailer uses a random orbital polisher. How does someone introduce swirls with a PC?

I`ve seen plenty of CC paint oxidized. SS just oxidizes faster.

To each their own. I certainly wouldn`t go that over the top on my daily driver, but this is an amazing show car / weekend driver. Now that all of the sponsor decals have been stripped off, it is essentially a road-going M3 GTR with a wide body that is inspired by Deutsche Touring Masters (DTM) race cars.

Actually, the Uber has extensive mods throughout the car. The suspension is a full race coil-over setup and the engine is a supercharged 478hp beast!

    Performance Specs

    Power : 478 BHP @ 7600 rpm

    Torque : 363 ft/lbs @ 5250 rpm

    0 - 60 mph : 4.3 sec
