    Cheers guys!

This is my first detail after loads of reading of your posts and sugestions.

It`s a BMW from 1990, diamond black metalic, paintwork was great, except minor swirls from washing. I didn`t shot the whole car just the hood, but results are amazing!

    I used this proces:

    Armorall shampoo heavy duty

    microfiber glove for wash

    Eagle one wheel cleaner

    Kanebo for drying

    polishing by hand:

    Scholl S17 medium cut

    Scholl S40 finish

    Farecla black top hand glaze

results in full sun:xyxthumbs( pics are from mobile phone, next time I`ll document whole proces with digi cam)

I am still confused with one thing...some people said that rubing compound needs to dry out after rubing like wax and then clean it up, I did that immediatelly after rubing with microfiber cloth, should I let it dry before finishing up?

    Nice job!

The first pic looks like there`s some micromarring...was your car detailed with a machine before?

never, just regular wash once a week and some wax, once hard shell and few times quick wax.

Maybe some micromarring is visible beacuse this is only first part of hood, later I started another section, so camera cought a piece of non-buffed part

    Paint is 2 years old

Good results considering you were doing it by hand; what did you use as far as applicators etc went?

aplicator was soft cotton made just for polishing needs, one piece for apply then large piece of new one to buff out. Cotton leaves no residue or swirls. Loads of microfiber`s leaves lints and scratches, I don`t trust them so much.:nixweiss
