I wonder if someone applied some oddball LSP product to the hood right before the CB install? Would sunlight do that over time? What a mystery - glad it turned out good in the end. A real nail-biter, though.

Fortunately, we took it to a body shop, they sprayed some clear on, wet sanded it, a little polishing and it was fine. On went the new clear bra...
The clear bra installer mentioned that you can heat up the bra to remove it but this leaves a lot of adhesive on the paint afterwards to clean up. Otherwise, if you just peel it as is - it usually comes off clean but sometimes it will take the paint with it (like in my case).
Wow...I`ll give you a lot of credit, I would not touch that! Great job getting that crap off man.
Oh, and more pics of that GT40 please!

Nice work, so what`s the story on the clear bras? Was the owner trying to take it off or did he have an actual installer removing it that screwed it up like that?
Great job making it look new again.

Thanks!
Great work on such a PITA process!
When you first showed up, did you think WTH did I get myself into?

After reading the story, seeing that pic that said FAIL on it, I just bust out laughing. It seems like you managed to keep your cool and your sense of humor through what may be the biggest PITA clear bra removal in history!
The car looks great now that you finished it up. Glad to see an owner take enough pride in the appearance of that amazing machine to hire a competant detailer (let alone one of your skill) and not some hack. Great work!

I have given some thought to removing my clear bra..... but after seeing that.... you`ve quelled the urge. Very nice job. When I had my tint installed I was talking to the buy about a type of clear bra film called Venture. He had a scrap that was left over from an install. We did everything we could do to puncture it with a screwdriver only to see it unstretch and recover to it`s original shape. Absolutely amazing stuff. Like a rock trampoline. And thick too. About 8-10 mils I think ?
wow awesome job
