Since I was home and bored I decided to detail my mom`s 08 R32 yesterday. It`s pretty new but clearly she doesn`t get it washed very often so it looked terrible. Once I got the grime off the paint actually looked fine, just a few very stubborn scratches on the roof from a tree branch (whoever said VW clearcoat is hard wasn`t kidding). The process was:

-Wheels w/ Megs Wheel Brightener 4:1

-Tires, wells, exhaust tips w/ Simple Green 4:1

-Pretreat w/ Poorboys Bug Squash 2:1

-Wash w/ Megs Gold Class in a foam gun and a Schmitt

-Clay w/ Sonus Green and ONR as lube

-Menzerna SIP on LC CCS orange @ 1800rpm for scratches (took 3 or 4 passes)

-Menzerna 106FF on LC CCS green @1300rpm

    -Menzerna Top Inspection wipedown

-Klasse AIO on LC CCS white via PC @ speed 5

-Collinite 845 on LC CCS blue via PC @ speed 4

    -Collinite 850 on exhaust tips

-CG VRT on rear diffuser and other plastics

    -CG Silk Shine on tires

    Interior (sorry no pics):

    -Vacuum

    -Woolite 8:1 on leather

    -Sonus Leather Conditioner

-Megs Quick Interior Detailer on dash and vinyl/plastic parts

-Plexus on gauge cluster and nav screen

    -Stoner`s IG on windows

    And now for the pics:

    Before

    During (wheels done, foam sitting)

    After

Sorry for the crappy garage pics, it was raining all day today so I didn`t want to pull it outside.

    great job.

850 is my go to for exhaust tips.

do you like the top inspection better than a 50/50 wipe down?

Thanks everyone My dad actually bought the car as a daily driver and my mom apparently drove it and loved it so much she wanted it for herself.

As far as the top inspection vs. 50/50 IPA, I think I actually like the 50/50 better. I`m not sure which has more cleaning ability as far as promoting bonding but the top inspection seems to take more wiping to get rid of the residue, whereas the 50/50 wipes away almost instantly. And it`s a whole lot cheaper
