My next oil change is due in 10,000 miles/1 year and my last cost me $20 with thirty minutes of my time included.

If you know, what kind of oil are they using for your changes? Regular old oil, hydrocracked/GROUP 3 hydroprocessed, or full synthetic? If they are using regular old oil I would completely understand the need for such a short interval.

Also, what oil filter do they use?

Yeah, and some of us think it`s just plain cool to keep a vehicle for a long, long time

Yeah, unfortunately it seems that most cars eventually have some problem that the owner doesn`t want to deal with properly and it`s downhill from there.

I agree, they really are nice looking cars. You need to put some more miles on the sedan, its barely broken in!

I`m curious, what is your driving style? Are you a "spirited" driver or really easy on the car?

Much respect to your for maintaining this car at this level and for that many miles. Keep on changing the oil and regularly maintaining the parts; You have been rewarded for your efforts. So many 75-100,000 mile cars are nowhere near in this condition.

My aim is to have my cars maintained at this level of care!! Well done!

    Glad this topic popped up...

I run my 95 Chevy Monte Carlo on Castrol Syntec 5w-30, and change the oil every 5K Miles.

This was the view from the drive seat last night -->

I`m going to work on catching up to you.

While my Mustang has nowhere near the miles your Acura does, I am working on it. I currently have 122,000 miles on it.

I do ALL my own maintenance though, she has NEVER been to any kind of shop for anything other than new tires and alignments.

For oil I generally use Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 and either a Mobil 1 Extended Performance filter or a Motorcraft filter. My intervals go anywhere from 5,000 to 7,500. I can`t find my latest analysis right now but even at 7,500 the TBN on Mobil 1 is always between 1.0 and 2.0 even at 7,500 mile intervals.

The only repairs I have had to make other than normal wear items are a new alternator early on and a new idle air control valve. I did both of those.
