Up for buffing today was a modded Porsche 993 Cab. The owner had contacted me about a month back and I had checked the car out in the evening with just the Brinkmann while giving my estimate. Well, the sun is always worse . Luckily, claying went quick and the wheels/wells/tires were in good shape. I spent about 4.5 hours strictly polishing and another hour doing a final wipedown. The last clown who detailed left this glue-like compound everywhere. I`ll let the pics do the talking on this one...

    - Dawn Wash

    - Zaino Z18 clay with Dawn Wash as lube

    - TOL Tire Cleaner cut 50/50 for the tires/wells

    - P21s Wheel Cleaner for the Speedlines

    - Menzerna S.I.P via rotary and LC Orange Cutting Pad @ 1700 rpm x 2

    - Menzerna PO85RD via rotary and LC White Polishing Pad @ 1500 rpm x 2

    - Dawn wash and GR-40 on all trim pieces to clean and de-oil

    - Zaino Z5 Pro (ZFX) on paint

    - Zaino Clear Seal on wheels

    - Zaino Z-PC and #0000 Steel Wool on tailpipes

    - Zaino Z8 final wipe down

    Before

    After

    Before

    After

    Before

    After

    8.5 hours total.

    Cheers.

Looks like it was in great shape before. I`m surprised you had to break out the SIP.

Liquid! Very slick 993. What was your customers reaction to the final product?

P1ET: Almost wished I had brought my HTEC .

    jesse: Makita 9227c

VaSuperShine: "Sean, it looks like a new paint job"

Kenney: I cleaned the trim with GR-40 and it looked great after that. I contemplated it, and rather had not have an oil "looking" slick after the next rainfall if I used a dressing.

Pat and Greg: Winter is approaching so I will have about 5 full details a month now.

    Thanks everyone!

Sensational turn around ! I always enjoy working on german clearcoats (higher um) as it makes our job a lot easier. But tell me something, how do you control the "sling" with a rotary at 1700rpm ?
