I did these two black SUV`s a few weeks ago. Husband (2003 X5) and wife (2004 Jeep Liberty). The X5 is from Europe and drove all over there and has done 3 trips from DC to Denver it had about 88,000 miles. The Jeep is hardly driven as it only had 22,000 on it. They came to me with extreme marring and were gray in color. I corrected what I could and turned them black again but there was still a ton of deep marring. Lucky for me the interiors were in very good shape and just needed a quick cleaning.

    Process:

    Nxt wash

Clay magic clay with Nxt wash as lube

    Nxt wash

    EC yellow LC at 1700-1800

    OP white LC 1200-1400

Wheels got Megs WB and Long Haul degresser.

    Tires//trim got megs tech protectant

Wells got Long haul tire sealant

LSP: X5- Collonite 845 and buffed off with OCW

    Jeep - OCW

    Interior:

    Vac

Wipe down with Vroom APC and water/woolite

    Stoners IG

    Protect with 303

    On to the pictures:

Here you can see what was left behind. I couldn`t touch this, it was too deep.

    Now for the X5

    Flake!

    Before:

    After Megs Scratch-X by hand:

I was dissappointed in the outcome, but they were much better than what I started with.

    Questions or comments welcome.

Black BMW paint is something else to work on. I just did a black M3 and X5 both 2004`s. The clear is so soft.

Audicoupej: did you use any product around the windshield and door rubber and if so what did you use. I haven`t found a product yet that I`m really happy with.

WOW! on that X5 - it really is a color change. For the Liberty, great job knocking down the marring, and I`m sure it`ll come perfect the next time if you wool it.

Yeah man! Just be proud of yourself.

    Those details are outstanding.

I am sure the owners were happy.

FYI, Anthony`s black wool and ec works great! I did an M5 (2000). didn`t come out perfect since I had only 7 hours to do it and was A FREEBIE.

Mines looks exactly like that! Since you`ve polished it, I guess you can put waxes on it too?

I find the BMW clear to be on the hard side. Not as hard as VW/Audi though.

vdubbya The door rubber at the base of the windows was hard and I used Scratch-X on that as well. The windshield rubber I just scrub when washing and it usually cleans it up. If it needs more work I will use 303 or FK108.

themightytimmah Thanks. Now you see part of why I asked about wool pads. The pictures don`t show as much marring as was left and I was running out of sunlight with the X5. The owners moved to Tennesse 5 days after I detailed them so I won`t have another go at them.

    kingDavid76 Thanks.

kleraudio Thanks Jim. He said he wasn`t expecting perfection. I think I exceeded his expectations but not my own.

zoomzoom mazda5 They got busy and stopped taking care of them. Part of the marring was from an attempt at sap removal with an scrub pad. I`m sure they will end up in the same shape shortly. :grrr

Thomas Thanks. I am just getting annoyed because the last few cars I`ve had have been really trashed and I cannot get them as good as I want to. I need to charge more. I will have to talk to Anthony about the black wool. Do I need any adaptor to hook it to my hitachi?

Carl Johnson I would be careful what wax you put on it. OCW should be fine but some waxes might stain it. AIO, JW Prime, CS, and OS should be fine on it. I didn`t apply any wax. The Scratch-X leaves a slight coating behind.

Kevin Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks Toto. Most of the Bimmers I get are pretty trashed. Every now and then I get lucky! Goodluck with the 745, it looks great so far!

It was 90* in my garage that weekend. I was so dehydrated I couldn`t drink anything but water for the next week
