The paint on this car was terrrrrrrrrrrible, wait no thats an understatement. Chips of paint missing everywhere, repainted panels, some clearcoat failure, scratches, dents etc etc. Did my best, probably only got 80-90% of the damage out, but looks a lot better than before. Wheels took an hour alone to clean because they were so stained and had everything built up on them.

    Process:

    Wash

    Clay

Hi Temp Xtreme Cut on an orange LC pad via rotary (X2 in most places on the car)

Optimum Polish on a white LC pad via rotary

    S100

    Now the pics

    Befores

    Half cleaned

Left side is HT XC applied twice, right side is untouched.

Apparently the past owner liked to think it was a 4x4 and bang into curbs.

    Looks a LOT better.

What`d you use on the wheels to get all that stuff out? Yeah I agree, it looks like mold/grime. I assume there was a lot of physical labor involved? The car looks much better now thought, great job. Still trying to figure out how someone could curb their wheels so much.. did the owner not care about the car? The reflection is awesome, looks like the exhausts could use a lot of TLC just like the rims needed it.

Looking good! Maybe we`ll have to do a group buy on some Megs Wheel Brightener for these type of occasions!

Here`s a picture of the way these wheels should really look. (my 1991 RX7 with 17k miles)

Excellent improvement! I think you got it as good as it can get without a repaint!

Those wheels are a nightmare. Not just the filth but the design. It is as if the thought that someone might want to clean them didn`t even enter into the feeble brain of whoever designed them. Seriously, I don`t understand how anyone can think complex wheels like that belong on a car where they are going to get dirtier than any other part of the car.

nice improvement! Had a similar job today... sometimes you can only do so much before reaching that point of diminishing returns.
