Not too bad, only 8600 miles.

    These should be fun:

    Interior won`t take long:

QEW wash, clay w/ AM body shine as lube and another QEW wash.

I did the baggie test on the paint and felt a little bit of bumps. Except for the lower areas behind the wheels, there was pretty much no evidence of any contamination on the paint.

Lets have a closer look at the paint.

As usual maybe its a little worse then I thought:

Two passes of EC/OP-yellow CCS pad-1700

There is still some deep scratches/water spot etching.

I gave the wool a spin with some OP, but that did not seem to do much better then the EC/OP-yellow CCS pad-1700. I think some presta polishes are in my future, along with some different wool pads.

    Here is a before shot:

After 1 pass with EC/OP yellow CCS pad/1700

    Door before:

    Door after 1 pass:

Most areas got 2 passes. Then follow with 106ff/green P2 pad/1500.

    Hood before:

    Hood after:

I backed the car outside, wheels cleaned with PB SnR, tires and wells with AM777 APC 1:4. Wells treated with Street Appeal Professional Tire Shine $1 for a quart at Dollar Tree. (thanks PhaRO)

Then I gave the car a wash with Z7 to get rid of the dust. Yes 106ff still dusts as I remember.

    After wash pics:

ZAIO applied via PC6 white LC pad:

I then applied 2x of Z5pro w/ ZFX to the paint/glass. A spritz of Z6 on each panel before wiping off the Z5pro.

Applied 1x of Clear Seal to paint, trim and glass. 90% of the CS dried in 15 mins. Temps in the 70s with low humidity.

The rear brake ducts looked great with CS:

    Applied Z8 to paint/glass.

Wheels got ZAIO and Clear Seal, tires got Z-16.

Interior got vac, APC wipedown and Z26 on trim and Z9/10 on leather.

Incredible work, I`ve only had the privilege of doing one corvette, thank god!!! The clearcoats on them are so hard that the PC barely makes a dent. You did an awesome job though and seeing how nice that 106FF finishes out makes me want to order a bottle, but I need to stop ordering detailing supplies, I`m getting too much in my stock

Thanks! Oh yes, they are on the hard side. I think I will be ordering some of the presta polishes to combat this PITA corvette clear. You can never have enough, can you?

Thanks Wade! You mean sell the beater? :faint: Not for at least 2 more years. As I waited for the owner to come pick this one up, the black sure did look good in my garage. :xyxthumbs

Ryan, As soon as I started to work ZAIO in, I could notice the difference right away. I`ll drop you a PM about what wool pads to get. Thanks for all your help!

Martin, CS really did wonders for all the trim. Seems like the warmer it gets out, the faster CS dries on the paint.

No, not on this one. I guess I could of run some water in the tank over the mats, but that increases the cost for the customer. :2thumbs:
