The owner basicly wanted his truck clean and presentable, but after watching me polish my friends black Q45 (He`s a friend of a friend) the other day, he told me to see what I could do with his truck, knowing that I didn`t have much more than 6 hours to work with.

Turned out looking great. Would have benefited from a more agressive polish and a finer polish before calling it quits, but the truck was in rough shape and I was on a tight time limit, so for now he was thrilled with the results

    Untouched:

    After washing: (Meguiars Gold Class)

Clayed entire truck with Clay-Magic clay and Mothers Quick Detail spray

Had a slight interuption when our drunk buddy Robbin decided to start burning the dead christmas tree in the BBQ grill, right next to the truck.... lol

After polishing with an orange pad and Pinnacle XMT 3 and finishing with Pinnacle Carnauba Finishing Glaze

Gonna put a layer of Megs #26 tomorrow and do the interior.....

Would have liked to have spent more time on the truck, but given the circumstances I think it came out pretty good, and the owner was THRILLED.

Nice work. Is that a Buick Invicta in the background? maybe a `59?

Nice...But I like the BU in the backround...I am starting to sound like a broken record. But nice job. Word of mouth is a very good thing.

haha well it started out with Robin (the one in the chair) coming over and everyone else (but myself) was gone..... so he hung out and watched me detail the truck, but after a few beers, he decided it was cold and that detailing in the cold COULDNT be fun, so he was gonna start a small fire in the grill to make the area a little warmer....

as the number of empty cans got larger, so did the fire.

Thanks for the compliment on the `Bu, I love the thing to death even though its got a backyard paintjob (not literaly back yard, but no professional by any stretch) and isnt perfect, the thing looks great for what it is and gets compliments everywhere I go.....

Not as many compliments as the `59 Lesabre in the background though! Thats tomorrows project I think. Its my buddy`s dream car, we picked it up last week after selling the `64 Olds to a guy in Norway. The `59 is a driver in all senses of the term, its got a year old Maaco paintjob, a little bondo here and there, a small carb fire scorched some of the paint on the hood (Gonna try and re-do the horrible paint job my buddy did on the hood, if he`ll let me.....). The thing literally stops traffic everywhere it goes. People have turned around and driven back just to find out what the thing is or to compliment my buddy. He`s cool about it, he`s gonna drive the wheels off it, he doesnt care about it being perfect in most cases as long as it remains as origional looking as possible..... I`m gonna see what he thinks about putting a decal on the back window advertising my business if I keep the car looking the best I can. Between the amount of driving he`s gonna be doing (In 5 days he put almost 800 miles on it when he first got it) and all the car shows / cruise nights, I think enough people will be looking at the car to notice my advertisment on the back. Gonna do the same with the `Bu, but not NEARLY as many people pay much attention to my Malibu as they do the Buick!

Anyway, back on topic, tomorrow I gotta tackle the interior.... should be easy enough, no carpets to worry about (Rubber floors), just a few nasty stains on the seats and a TON of dirt and dust on the dashboard and such....

I`ll put pics up when I`m done
