I finally got a chance to give my mom`s SL500 a proper detail. This was also my first time using my brand new Mytee HP60 which I picked up Thursday. I`m pretty happy with the results.

I started out by washing with Meg`s #62 in foam gun and clayed with mild Meg`s Professional clay. Once the surface was clean I went to work on the paint. It proved to be pretty hard as I expected. Here was my process...

    IP/W8006/rotay

FPII/W8006/rotary (where it was necessary, mainly just the hood)

    FPII/W8006/PC

    Autoglym Extra Gloss protection

Topped with P21S (the EGP was given 24 hours to cure)

    NXT Metal Polysh on wheels

Tires dressed with a tire dressing bought from a local shop

Interior was done with the following:

Meguiars APC Plus (the orange kind)

303 Protectant on doors, dash, etc

    Meguiar`s leather conditioner on seats

    Carpets were extracted

Unfortunately I did not get any befores because I started on the paint yesterday and didn`t have a camera. Today I got ahold of my sisters camera and snapped these pictures after doing the interior and applying the P21S. I wish I could have gotten some full sun shots, but it was getting dark by the time I finished.

    And now the interior shots...

The HP60 is awesome! I enjoy cleaning carpets now that I have something that works!

The last picture is the water extracted after one pass over the front drivers side floor matt. My mom was almost embarassed that they were that dirty! :lol

    Dave,

Thanks for the kind words. I too love the look of the newer Mercedes silver. My dad has a silver 2006 GL450 that I will be detailing sometime this week or next weekend.
