I bet the title got your attention lol. This past Friday and today (Monday) I was able to detail a 2004 575 M and an 2006 F430 Spider which belongs to the same owner. I did the F430 on Friday and finished the 575M today.

LET ME APOLOGIZE RIGHT NOW FOR TWO THINGS! 1. I’m idiot when it comes to my camera. 2. To adhere to the owners unspoken wishes I couldn’t move the cars around for outside shots and he was at work all day both days until night time. So obviously the garage is where they stayed.

Friday’s pics and all my before pics are jacked up. After I took before pics and then polished the whole vehicle today. I then realized there was a big smudge mark on my camera lens that was greatly distorting my images. I know this may sound convenient to lose all “before†pics but trust me, I made a difference in the paint. Both vehicles I spent 10 hours each.

Don’t get me wrong, both vehicles were in excellent condition. More than 5 feet away under normal garage light you may not see any swirls. Then put the hologens on it and get within 5 feet, any autopian would immediately see them. The owner does a very good job in keeping up with both cars washing and waxing them himself. He uses autopian style products such as MF towels, MF WW, and brands like Zymol, Griots, Autoglymâ€etc. Blah blah, enough talk.

First up was Friday’s 06 F430 Spider with 200 something miles. The Entire detail was done on the lift as the owner has it ready for winter and does not want to move it. It was pretty nice to raise and lower the lift to get the lower half of the car though! Car was already washed when I got to the owners home.

    Condition:

Excellent, with only minor marring from multiple washings.

First cleaned dusting off the convertible top and sprayed 2 layers of Raggtop Protectant 15 minutes apart.

    Paint Process:

Wiped down with FK425 to remove dusting and Raggtop overspray.

Clayed with Zaino Clay and FK425 as lube.

Rotary with FPII and polishing pad @ 1500rpms

Rotary with FPII and polishing pad again @1000rpms

    Zymol HD-Cleanse by hand

Zymol Estate Glaze Ital Wax (owner supplied)

Door Jambs waxed with pinnacle souveran.

    Engine bay wiped down.

Wheels inside/outside cleaned with MF towels and APC

    Tires got Zaino Z16

    Wheel Wax applied (owner supplied.)

Exhaust tips and aluminum door sills hand polished with Flitz

All windows cleaned with Stoner’s IG.

Inside was already clean—I did quick wipe down with the Autoglym leather cleaner for dash and seats and applied autoglym leather conditioner and 303 for the dash. Then vacuumed. Did some more stuff but probably forgot by now.

Remember that all I have is after pics, and the ones you see here are all from today since the ones I have of the 430 from Friday are jacked up along with all the before pics from today’s 575

Next up 2004 575M with about 2700 miles.

    Light to light-moderate swirls.

    Process:

    Washed with Z7

Clayed with Z clay and FK425 as lube.

Rotary with Menz IP @ 1500rpms via polishing pad

Rotary with Menz FPII @1200rpms via polishing pad

    Zymol HD-Cleanse by hand

Zymol Estate Glaze Ital Wax (owner supplied)

Door Jambs waxed with pinnacle souveran.

    Engine bay wiped down.

Wheels cleaned with Meg’s wheel brightner diluted to 6 water: 1 solution and cleaned with MF mitt and assorted brushes.

Hand polished Wheel lips, stainless steel exhaust tips, and aluminum door sills by hand with Flitz.

Interior I did the exact same steps as the 430 spider - quick wipe down with the Autoglym leather cleaner for dash and seats and applied autoglym leather conditioner and 303 for the dash. Then vacuumed.

Again im probably missing some things I did but Im a little tired from a long day!

If i made a lot of grammar and/or other mistakes in this write up...it is due to me being extremely tired and having class tomorrow all day! Questions and comments as always!

Great job Chris. I take it this owner likes Red. I love the finish on the cars, the depth is unreal. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful job and cars. I don`t understand how he only has 200 mi on the F430. I would put 500 mi on it the first day I owned it.

I think we all believe that but when you drop about 250g`s on a car, driving it on roads where you have to worry about rock chips, people touching/scratching your car or drawing attention of thieves, you second guess driving it much! He does drive it the way it is meant to be driven when it does come out to play! :grinno:

Wow, absolutely awesome work on two fantastic cars:2thumbs: . Any reason you did`t go to a finishing pad with FPII after the polishing pad? I find it refines the paint much better with no chance of holograming or trails. And let me say this is not criticism, your work is very good .
