    Assessed an older Ferrari

I was asked to assess this customer`s older 1982 Ferrari which had been sitting for some years. As you can see it had a severe amount of dust covering it. I told the customer that I actually need to see the paint in order to assess it. So I had to give it a quick wash as in this state I can`t see too much.

I cracked out my QEW mix, gave it a quick wash then hit it with z8.

Overall, the paint has very little flaws but I find Ferrari clear coats among the best to work on. I was surprised a few shots of z8 made that "ferrari red" simply pop.

Nevertheless, he still wants me to go over it properly of which I will in a few more weeks.

After this, he mentioned that really likes my work and has spoken to his neighbours who will be dropping off their F40 , Enzo, F430 and a 911. During this time, his son`s 360 modena was unavailable as it was currently getting serviced. Awww.. such a shame. I stood there trying to suppress my emotions and be as "non shalant" as ever.

I guess if there is a moral to a story, for those thinking of getting into the business, i say, sometimes it pays to "be nice" and go the "extra mile" for some people, as you never know what`s around the corner. :-)

    Process:

    QEW x 1

    Zaino Z8 x 1

    What I originally saw

    washed and z8`d one side

    washed and z8`d one side

    Afters

After putting his garbage back into place for him.

If that Ferrari has a clearcoat, it isn`t the original paint.

Looks pretty good without all that nasty dust on it.

he must really not love his car.. who lets that much dust accumulate, its not like its a model toy on a shelf, or his old bowling trophys.. its a ferrari, a 328, but still a ferrari.

beyond such things, his son still lives with him? I guess the money went to the 360 not a home..

    your a lucky guy..

LightngSVT - no he has the 328, 911 and 360 for his son. The rest are his neighbours.

Scott - could be a re-paint but the car only has 10,000 kms on it. Never been driven

justvisiting - his house is immaculate in size and gorgeous. Its just they are not "garage" people. I`m not that lucky as i attribute it more to hard work at building clientele.

becks - when his neighour fired up that Enzo, i kid you not, it shook the entire place. Almost "harley davidson" decibel level. I hope the cabin drone isn`t that loud. Not meant for the street whatsover.

Who`s the poor guy that only has a 911? That neighborhood must be on it`s way downhill!

    Assess this for him,

Thats a 1987 328, unless the guy rebaged it and updated the wheels and bumpers. You just made him a few bucks! I

n 1982 the car was a 308 and had no CHMSL and different wheels and different bumpers.

i personally don`t care what year it is.. that`s what his son said before he took off. So obviously the son is incorrect.
