This beautiful 2001 996 was purchased by my existing client with only 800 miles! I tried to warn him NOT to wash the car or attempt to put any product on the finish until I worked on it...but noooooooo, he does it anyway (btw, he`s been a friend for 30+ years so I can get away with that statement).

Anyway: washed (no clay needed as the finish was butter smooth) and taped the trim and rubber.

    Used the following products

New Pinnacle XMT #2 Light Swirl Remover

    AIO

    Wolfgang Sealant

Used a Cyclo on the doors, roof, & hood and a pc on the compound curves

    Before Shot:

    Another Owner Applied Swirl Shot

Taped and Polished (the taping took about 1 hour, but saves lots of time in the end)

    Autopia Inspired door reflection shot

    Swirl Free At Last!

Overall shot of how a black car should look"

He`s finally realized my original advice and is taking it. Let me take care of the finish!

Porsche black is butter soft. I have a customer who likes to wash his cars and due to how far he lives, I wash one a week at his office (I do details at his house though) and he washes the other at home. He has given up on the Porsche and just has me wash it, says no matter what he does, he ends up marring the paint when he washes it. He now drives his Porsche to his office and washes his truck himself. I see your customer has found out the same. I end up using Monster Fluffy`s to wash it.

    AIO + Wolfgang =

I`d forgotten how good it looks-especially over excellent prep!

Absolutely beautiful. That`s the exact car that I`m looking to buy. Just need to find the right deal. I, too, love AIO + WG. That`s been my favorite combo on black for quite some time now.

Right you are Scott! I didn`t realize it at first, but it became apparent during the polish. I also didn`t let the Pinnacle XMT #2 swirl remover powder and tried to remove it too fast.

Overall, this guy brings me a lot of "enthusiast" cars which I like. The owners are pretty choosy in their detailer, but will really give word-of-mouth advertising to a good one.

I`ve since picked up an independent Bimmer shop to detail cars (at a great rate) and he will teach me wet sanding (which I know zero about)...best of 2 worlds for me.

Why not SG on top of the AIO?
