I did this a while back and never posted pics...This was my first detail. I did it for $80 so the guy would be my guinea pig...

He brought it to me washed. Hawaii is known for its extremely hard water. If you don`t wipe down after a wash then you will pay the price later.....Took about 8 hours to do....Wished I had had a rotary but this was first time I had ever used anything other than the $50 craftsman co-orbital buffer...

Nice work! But you need to raise your prices for that kind of work..It`s worth a lot more thnan $80

Great job there, if you`re looking to do this professionally a rotary will really help too. I`d probably charge $90 for the same job, but a rotary will shorten it down to around 3 hours.

I have a rotary but not confident enough to use it on anything other than flat panels...I am afraid that I would burn the CC on those fender curves and where the hood curves down to the fenders....Any suggestions on preventing this?

Others....thanks for the compliments...as I said..this was my first detail so I wanted to be sure that I was able to provide a quality detail for the money...

Yes, run the rotary slower than you usually would, and use Optimum. With a light cut or polishing pad and OCP or OCC @1200, paint is only going to burn if you leave the buffer on the same spot for a long time (I`m talking like 10 seconds +).

so slow speed on curves and bump up speed to 1500 or so on flat panels? When do a panel, how long before you can make a second pass (how long does it take for the heat to disapate before hitting the area again) I would assume that if you revisit the area to quickly you would run the risk of burning the paint even if you didn`t hold the buffer in one area...More feedback please..I am gettin ready to do an infinity this weekend...Black and swirled to death...
