    Dallas AutoRama

I used to put my Trans Am in this show every year but I`ve taken the past few years off. The show is this weekend and I just went online to see what they had planed for this year. Meguiars always sets up their huge trailer with products but this year they are doing something a little different. It looks like they will offer some training classes on detailing. One day is headlight restoration and another is using a DA.

I wish I had rented a booth. I could have said something like "If your too lazy to do what Meguiars is teaching hire me to do it for you"

Looks like they`re doing the same thing in Detroit this year. Wonder who will be teaching the classes?

I`ll find out who is doing there tomorrow. I think it`s pretty cool because a lot of people don`t realize there`s more to detailing than "clean" or "shiny".

I know at Goodguys they offer a demo on some products but I`ve never seen a set up like this. I`ll ask for some M101 while I`m there

    This a very true statement.

If I was detailing for a living, I would create some multimedia presentation on what a detailer could do for potential clients including the damage that is possible at the local swirl a matic. This includes service by cleaning the interior (get a soccer mom concerned about germs in the interior with all that trash), headlight restoration (safety), etc.

As I said in the ceiling thread, people do not realize the incremental damage and even a very swirled car with decent paint will look fine at off angles.

I`ve thought the same thing. With digital pictures frames being fairly cheap is one thought. Loading a presentation with before and afters of services is straight forward. I used it at a show once. People did take a look.
Step it up and talk to some independent repair and tire shops. See if they will allow you to place one there. 1 job will more than pay for it. I know when I`m sitting in one I`m desperate to find something to read or look at.
One day I`ll get to do my own car.

That`s a great idea. I see some of the product booths use the digital frames for their work. Load up a memory card and your set.

I was thinking of renting a space and putting a car there to show some real side by side work. When I bought my Flex I got to try it out on a Nissan 350z that was on display.
