McKee`s 37 Thursday Night Trademark Garage - Restoring Neglected Pontiac G8

McKee`s 37 Hosted another get together at the Trademark Garage!

The lucky people that attended got first hand experience with McKee`s 37 All new Trademark Poli-Coat liquid wax.

The team`s canvas was a hammered Pontiac G8 That had severe contamination, swirls, scratches, and rotary holograms.

Before we start let`s take a look at the condition.

    Before Condition

    Decontamination

Before we start any polishing process, We have to ensure we go through the proper procedures to remove all embedded surface contaminants. This paint felt very rough with the touch of your hand, With the baggie test it felt like sandpaper! So Each team member grabbed a bottle of McKee`s 37 Universal Clay Lubricant and a Claybar and went to town!

This is what we felt with our hand, This car was bad!

    Test Spot

You always want to perform a test spot before you commit to a certain process.

From experience I knew that the Lake Country Blue HDO Foam Cutting Pad and McKee`s 37 Fast Polish would do the trick for a nice 1-step Polish!
(This is a combo I use most of the time for my 1-steps)

So Nick demonstrated a test spot for the team. (One buffing cycle)

After the test spot, I grabbed my inspection light and we inspected our results.

    After

    Polishing Process

Now that we have confirmed a combination that works, We all grabbed polishers, a Blue HDO Pad, and a bottle of McKee`s 37 Fast Polish!

This combo continues to impress me, It always leaves behind a flawless finish while achieving a high level of correction.

    Trademark Poli-Coat

After the polishing was all done it was time to take the gloss to the Next Level-> (Pun Intended)

Nick educated the team on the all new Trademark Poli-Coat and what it has to offer!

Nick applying some Poli-Coat on a Black HDO Finishing pad.

Shortly everyone grabbed a HDO Finishing pad and a bottle of Trademark Poli-Coat and got down to business.

    Jerry is liking the wax!

    Pizza Time

After the team layed down a coat of Trademark Poli-Coat the Pizza was delivered! Perfect timing, While we waited for the Poli-Coat to haze on the paint we enjoyed our Pizza and had great conversation.

The Trademark Poli-Coat smells so good, I had to advise everyone not to apply it to the pizza!

After out pizza it was time to buff off the Trademark Poli-Coat.

    Wipes off like butter.

    After

All the wax is wiped off, Let`s take a look at the car now!

We got really impressive results for a 1-Step Polish, This car was really bad. With this fast and simple process the team was able to achieve about 80-85% Correction.

The team did a awesome job restoring the paint on the G8, for doing such a great job they all got some of the first bottles of the all new McKee`s 37 Trademark Extended Spray Wax!

Group photo, We all had a great time. Can`t wait for the next one!

    Looking good!

I was getting a little worried when I didn`t see Frank S in any of the first handful of photos - but there he is hiding in the back eating some pizza!

Looks good, looks like a blast as well.
Formerly the "Best Detailer", now just Super Wax Waster Man. Not necessarily tactful, but normally right. It`s good to be da King !!!
