This upcoming weekend I will be in brookline, ma @ the museum of transportation for mercedes day. I will bring the C320 and enter it in a "street" concours judgement. An SL55 and ML500 Brabus that I detail will be there as well. I will be sure to take pics etc. Rules can be found at www.mbca.org. Does anyone have any tips for me

I will comment, I have went through a judging course for MBCA, worked a few events. And, best of all, entered my car for the first time a month ago and placed second, thanks to all the great tips from this site.

MBCA has a copy of the judging form on the web site. The form lists all of items which a judging team will inspect. That is key, print out a copy, inspect your car, and be critical as a judge would.

The scoring system is important. For each item on the form, a certain number of points are given. 1/2 for authenticity, 1/4 for condition, and 1/4 for cleanliness. Inspect accordingly.

Search Autopia on MB concours, you should find threads with more specific details. Any specific questions?

    Wow...I read those MB rules.

A lot of extra points for older cars and higher mileage. Basically it means if you own a late model car, forget about entering...you have no chance. :nixweiss

WOW! THREE cars entered?? You must be a serious detailin` fool! Be sure and let us know how the weekend goes.

JB, I haven`t read the MB rules. But in the Jaguar club, cars are in different classes depending on the model and age, so late-model cars aren`t competing against the old classics. That feels pretty fair to me.

Well with Porsche its basically the same. My Class is Street-7 which is Boxsters only.

However the real trophy to win is the Best of Street, so you are up against all Street cars (Street-1 thru Street-10).

If age and mileage were taken into account then, it would be impossible to win the overall trophy with a late model car.

I would be up against 100% restored garage queen 356`s. I could have a virtually perfect preparation on my daily driver Boxster and still lose.
