Great day for a bbq run

Met some club friends for bbq. Not too far from my house but over an hour drive for them

    Some of their pics

they don`t have bbq sauce, and don`t ask them, lol

look at that guy trying to get a Merlin shot off my car, lol

Who doesn`t like a nice cruise in a freshly waxed black muscle car for bbq?

It can`t just be a Texas thing.

    Thanks for viewing.

Haven`t been to Texas in a while but North Carolina ain`t bad when it comes to BBQ. This place is called 12 Bones and is located in Asheville, NC - if your in the area it`s a must. Open very limited hours and not on the weekends to call ahead. Just fantastic and no disrespect to our Texas friends. Good is good and regardless of where it`s from, I`m a huge fan of great BBQ.

Re: Great day for a bbq run

I`ve had BBQ all over the US. The BBQ in Kansas City was some of the best. In Texas, if you say BBQ it`s normally beef. In Georgia it`s normally pork. The main difference (to me) is in the sauce. Every region has a little different taste. Like in Texas where putting sauce on BBQ is frowned on or in the Carolinas where it is usually mustard based. In Georgia and Kansas City the sauce is normally tomato based. The one constant is that it is different, but it all tastes great.

    Brandt !!!

    You are killing me !!!!

Nothing beats BBQ from Texas !!!!!!!!
I am so jealous and hungry from those pics !!!

Have never eaten at a Bad BBQ place in Texas--- it is just impossible...

Those old folks that learned it from their great, great, grand-parents and on up to now - they are really hard to beat..

And no, you don`t need any dang sauce - it comes with the meat already so moist and tender...

It would be like asking for A-1 when you have a big 8oz Applewood Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon from Morton`s or Ruth Chris`s Steakhouse on your plate...

Between that awesome Texas BBQ AND their incredible Mexican Food everywhere, I could live and die there a very full, happy, camper...

Loved that you Mopar guys/gals got out and did something fun ! Your car - Amazing!!!

I hear it`s nothing like Texas. Well, according to the only Texan I know.

I wasn`t a big BBQ person, until I tried Famous Dave`s BBQ. Now I LOVE it. It`s one of the few restaurants where I actually try different things from the menu. Normally, I stick to one dish that I think I`ll be comfortable with. I`m plain and boring like that.

People like another place called Lucille`s BBQ, and I thought it was just OK. I`ve converted quite a few from Lucille`s over to Dave`s, though.

I like the sign- No BBQ Sauce (nothing to sauce)
No Forks (they are on the end of your arms)
