Hmm looks like it was a quality repaint, too, the actual paint isn`t that bad from the pics, but the hood is horrible!

Signature modified because it was over the limit.

I meant to start a thread about this, as lee said, i went to the ajc auto show and the 1/2 million dollar lambos were swirled i have pics ill post when i get home tonight. Its unbelivable. I asked a rep for gmc if he knew anything about the finish on one of the denalis and y is was so clear. He said it was because it had a lot of clear coat on it! . Some ppl are just completely oblivious. It`s sad to see. I asked a rep about a beautiful caddy and she said that it was swirled because it had been to many many shows... funny because it was a 2006 model that just came out....
Sean, just be sure the car shows you enter are well-lit. That will the key factor in winning in your class. The import scene has been getting too caught up in the mods and what not and not so much as attention to detail anymore. Oh yeah, this would be a good opportunity to advertise your car detailing business. =)

Denzil: I did exactly that at the last show. I passed about a half-dozen cards out that day. Nothing huge, but decent. The show was in direct light all day and all I heard was "Damn this thing is clean"...However, in the end, judges could care less.

I was trying to tell you before.....
These shows are about how much you spent on your car. (point system)
I agree with JonM. I`ve been to a few import car shows, including the NOPI Nationals over in Atlanta. It`s all about the modifications (and the bikini contest!). I think Concours events like the Pebble Beach thing and also manufacturer`s new shows take every detail into account. I remember one new car show I went to about ten years ago. I was looking at a new 1995 red Honda Prelude and I couldn`t stop staring at the finish. Absolutely no swirls. All I kept thinking was "How the H*ll did they do that?!" Of course, now that I`m an Autopian, I know how they did it.

Yeah the import scene, just like almost everything in our nation, gets too hyped about every possible modification you can put into your car. Remember the altezza tail light fad??? :angry

randomman84: that`s sickening. Some detailer needs to be taken out to the woodshed and strung up by his ears!!

I`m sure many of us do... but just because I give them a card doesn`t mean they`ll call me back on it. Besides, there are many who get offended when you call their detailing into question. They think that since they`ve put their car in a car show, it must be in really good shape.
i gave out a few cards, one to GM, Toyota, Caddy, Mercedes, BMW. The Lambos were exotics and there wasn`t anyone to tlak to them about.

I put on the local car show in my town, we have 100-200 cars, and they first thing I look for is swirls, scratches, etc. Then they really hate me when I break out the mirror to check their undercarriage!!

OT but any idea what size rims are on that Teg?
