    Time to Freeze!

I figured I`d cross post this since some of you guys like doing your own maintenmence/modifacations.

Recently, I discovered a pretty large oil leak and a misfire on cylinders 3 & 4 and a ballast went out to boot. It`s been running rough, to be honest I though it was motor mounts but apparently I was wrong. Being this is my DD and I`ve noticed a slow and gradual loss of MPG over the years, Well anyway`s it`s about time to overhaul the R.

    The complete list of parts.

    Fluids

    Mobile ATF 3309 - 12 Qaurts
    Motul 300V 5W-40 - 6 Quarts
    Motul Mocool - 1 canister
    Volvo Anti-freeze
    Distilled water
    Liqui-moly Ceratec - 1 Canister
    Liqui-moly Rad Cleaner - 2 Canisters
    Liqui-moly Engine Clean - 1 Canister

    Factory

    OEM Oil Filter
    OEM Oil Cap
OEM Oil level sensor gasket (Opened up to see inside the pan, leaking)
    OEM Spark plugs
    Bosch 160 Amp alternator
    OEM Idler pulley
OEM PCV system (Complete), main pipe and both banjo bolts replaced
OEM Upper & Lower Rad hoses (lower was dry rotted)
    OEM Thermostat (Whole new unit)
    Bosch Boost sensor
OEM Gaskets and crush washers for all the misc things that go along with a complete front dissembly.
OEM Misc Bolts and new OE Clamps for hardware
    OEM Petcock (IMPORTANT)

    OEM Plus

OEM XC90 Oil cooler (Brand new)
New Quick release setup with fast draining
Horn Relocation - Front air dam is now flowing a ton better
Custom Iginition harness + All new coil clips (You will see in pics, rated to handle 500F + Quick release)
Wrapped and spliced the whole front engine loom with TESA tape
    Osram Cool Blue Boost D2S
    Valeo OE Ballasts
Side mount OIL OEM cooler for Engine oil (Still a work in progress, sourcing correct lines and a block off plate)

    Performance

    D088 OTE
    D088 Lower charge pipe
    D088 Drop-in Intercooler
    DEI Gold Thermal Wrap
    Snabb Aramid Intake Manifold Spacer
    Snabb Aramid Throttle body spacer
    Silicone Vacumm lines
New ATE 1 way check valves for the Vacumm system

Cleaned (This is important for thermal reasons, everything was pulled off the car and cleaned top to bottom)
Injectors were sent out to southbay injectors (Huge thanks), flow tested and sonic cleaned and new O-rings + Seats were installed!

    Radiator + Fan
    AC Condenser + Compressor
    Power steering unit
    Accessory Bracket
    Whole engine block
    All intake piping
    Intake manifold
    Throttle body
    Sensors, clips, etc.

The car now runs like a swiss watch, I used to have mild vibration in the cabin. I now have next to none, MPG has improved by atleast 20% but time will tell, no more oil leaks, throttle response is much better. Engine temps, the big winner, the engine runs ICE COLD. The intake manifold never gets more than 85F (I`ll test it with a heat gun soon). I can actually touch it and it feels luke warm, not hot. The OTE pipe is also MUCH cooler, atleast 30-40 degree`s less (I suspect it`s from the DEI wrap, better engine coolant but most most of all the harness from the oils dissapating the heat.)

Thanks to Connor at Viva and Southbay Injectors!

    Re: Time to Freeze!

Thanks, it definitely was. The MPG gain alone will pay for alot of the work, plus who doesn`t love a longer last engine.

That is the tune-up to end all tune-ups. I’d love to see you go into your local Volvo dealer and price out parts and labor on that work

Sounds like upgrades and maintenance improved things considerably. Those Motul cans look plain cool.

That it is, MSRP would be probably around 4.5K for everything. The Motul do look awesome, it`s ashame they are going back

FCPEuro warranties OIL, so once this oil wears in 4k it goes back in the cans and gets replaced, free.
