They had sprayed the wrong one and thought I wouldn`t notice. It was the difference of Snow White and a Pearl White. I looked at them, like are you kidding?

Wow, they actually tried to release the car that way?

    I know I would be..

For that much paint to lift off and not just chip off makes it seem like it never really adhered because of what Migue said above - poorly prepped the surface underneath..

And it`s on both sides ??

You mentioned this area is flexed a lot, right ? Well then if this is the case and the paint is flexing too, they better put the flexing agent in the mix or the paint will be flexing and breaking off too.

It`s the same flex agent they put into the paint that covers plastic bumpers, etc., so they can be pushed in occasionally, and the paint doesnt crack...

    Good luck, Amigo !

Thanks Dan. It`s not that part that is flexing, it`s the vent and I believe it`s touching/lifting the paint that it hits.

+1 on the Flex Agent, whoever you have re-shoot it, don`t let them tell you they won`t add flex agent to it, doesn`t cost them but a few seconds of labor to throw in the paint/clear mixture. If i was able to fully repaint bumpers and other plastics out of my back porch back in High School using Flex Additive in the mixture with success every time, i don`t see how a pro painter can`t.

Have them fix it. If they screw it up.....have them fix it again. NO way should a new car have paint peeling. Especially their flagship car. Of course I have plenty of other paint issues with Bowling Green but that`s for another thread.

Yes they did and then tried to make me feel like they couldn`t cover the rental car for the extra time involved to shoot it again. It was evening and they were trying to get out of the there and acted like I was asking for the moon. Literally this was an entirely different paint code not just a bad mix that was half a shade off. I got them to acknowledge this after everything was said and done. Needless to say not only have I never done business with them again but I have purposely steered potential customers from heading their way. It was also the last GM product I ever owned. Sadly, I used to like Pontiac, not that it would matter today anyway. Barry didn`t like em`

Ron - I don`t think this is even a question. As much as you paid for the car, it should be corrected, to your levels of acceptance, with no questions asked. Not that it would be acceptable on a Cruze, a Volt, a Malibu or whatever else GM sells, but this is a Z06 Corvette.

I agree with what most everyone say`s should happen. But I am a realist and I would say you have a 10 percent chance of having the dealer ship fix it to your liking and a 50 percent chance that all they do is make it worse. I would live with it till I had a few/bunch rock chips and other stuff to fix and have a auto body shop I trust do it n my dime correctly.

I have to agree here .. they will take the car apart and you may or may not like the work .. but it should be documented .. down the line they may have a paint recall and redo the whole car if there are enough complaints ...

I wonder if they can tell how fast you have driven it and if the Dragon`s Tail curves might have anything to do with it ???

Well my friend bring it in for inspection and see what other colors you may like

Tell them you know they may ruin it by taking it apart, so they should just give you another one

You can`t leave this alone. The judges will see it every time. Then again, it might solve the problem of "where do I put all these trophies?"
