Subbed. I love those old "bricks" you can`t kill them! Good work so far, definitely wanna see how it turns out!

BTW, love the look on your old MK4. I have a MK5 5 cylinder 5 speed, not quite as cool though, lol.

Yeah this one had over 330k miles on the original engine and trans. There are times that I miss my mk4 and my b6 audi. But I dont miss the payments. Haha.

So here is the passenger side wheel well "cleaned"

Apprently super clean does not touch dirt.... I am looking to make an order soon but so far I only have dodo ferrous dueller. What type of cleaner should I get for these stubborn wheel wells.

Oh and car will be moved to a buddys shop in a week to get the fab work done!

    Re: A Experiment....build thread

I look forward to your progress and the pics that follow. I also have a turbo brick that is a project. It was my DD but has been sitting in my garage for about a year until I can get the funds to get it up and running. I`ve got a long list of things I want to do it, both mechanically and cosmetically. For now, I have to settle for getting it up and running and able to pass smog.

This is my `95 855 T5 when it was working well...

I hope you get yours up and running again soon, so you can get back to enjoying the driving experience.

As far as your current detailing project at hand, I would suggest getting a good assortment of brushes, if you don`t already. A solid performing APC and elbow grease should get those wheel wells looking better.

Brushes: Mothers Tire, Wheel, and Well Brush Kit. & Mothers Detail Brush Set. You may want to pick up a cheap stiff bristle brush from the cleaning aisle at your local store to really get at the old baked on grime for the first pass of cleaning.

A couple of pretty good APC`s are Blackfire and CG All Clean+.

Optimum Power Clean for the wheel wells. It`s a little more expensive, but you can dilute it to suit your needs. Wheel wells, engine bays, interiors, leather, etc., it literally can do it all. Get ya a decent wheel well brush too. The Mothers brushes are cheaper and just as good as the more expensive ones.

So I got some time to play. Attacked the passenger side.

    Here is a before:

    And After:

Still need to work on this guy.

After I scrubbed and scrubbed. I got alot of dirt off found that alot of the under coating was gone leaving a sub par look. So I endded up rattle caning it. The dodo juice ferrous dueller really attacked the build up on the caliper. Still need to work on the wheels. So more tomorrow!

Did you use the OPC at all or just the DDJ?

Used OPC on the wheel well only used dodo on the caliper. The OPC cleans amazing I still have to put the wheel liner back in. Cant wait to attack the interior with it.

As I was out in my garage. I happend to look at my sad and old PC7424 pre XP! I started to think I should get a new DA. Really want a Rupes seeing and hearing about them. But would a flex DA be a good step up or should I just drop the cash for the Rupes?

Don`t think you can go wrong with either. I started off with a Flex 3401 a few years back before Rupes came out. But now I would also like to have a Rupes 21 and mini in my arsenal.
