Anyone ever try Autopen for scratch and chip repair? You send the manufacturer your paint number from the Veh Vin number and they fill the pen with your touchup paint. You can also order different size tips depending on your job... Seems like it would work good on a scratch... They also sell pens with clear coat..

A fine paint brush, and a bottle of touch up from your dealership is just as good, if not better approach.

I don`t have the knowledge or experience to evaluate that statement. Someone more familiar with paint tech, can you please answer: Will a urethane touch-up paint offer a better color match than one that is lacquer-based?

will always be better because it is the exact paint that was used to paint your car. The laquer is easier to use, as it is high solvent and dries very fast. You can layer on a few coats in a day, and be done with it in a weekends time from start, prep, layering on paint, clearcoat , wet sand, polish, wax, and finish.
