I had a look through the archives and it looks like a few people use Autoglym. Does anyone know if you can layer the Gloss sealent (eg not the resin polish) many times. Also If a wash, resign polish and then Gloss seal, the next time I wash using Autoglym washing product, it strips off the beading affect of the polish and gloss (the only solution I have found to this is to just wash with water, or a very small amount of Autoglym wash to water mix. Is this this the same with the other products I see in the forum (eg Zaino etc). Also is there a swirl filler I can use before I use Autoglym (my car is dark Blue met).

sorry for the 101 questions, but my last one is that people talk a lot about Zaino being good for silver / light colour cars - whats it like on dark ?

Yes you can layer AutoGlym. The most I have done is three.

I have not used their wash. You can use any brand. Some washes work better than others in keeping the original sheen and bead characteristics. Zaino wash improves the look and feel of Zaino polish. Pinnacle I find is good stuf but a bit harsh on the carnubas. P21S wash is milder and I find it does not effect the finish in a negative way at all. I find the same thing with Meguiars Gold Class. In all cases I quick detail after a wash to help boost things back up. Washes have to be strong enough to clean so it is not unusual that many degrade the finish just a bit. I tend to use shampoos only every other wash or to for this reason.

You really need to remove the swirls with a compound like Finesse It or similar. Products with fillers, like 3M Imperial Hand Glaze, will be removed by the solvents in Autoglym.

I have never used autoglym, but have heard from others that it has decent durability. Does the shine, and slickness degrade or just the water beading? KLASSE SG turns to sheeting on the car I applied it too, but I believe it is still on the car as it is still glossy and reflective.

Anyhow, zaino works great on dark cars. Here is a dark blue, metallic bimmer with Zaino on it......

How does Super Resin Polish compare to Klasse AIO as a cleaner. Is the Super Resin Polish a stronger cleaner or are they about the same?

Thanks for the help on that. I think I am going to try out the Zaino product and use some of that 3m Hard glaze as a swirl filler. Hope I can get a deeper longer lasting finish than my autoglym (as my car get very dirty round were I live).

Yes. Good ole H2O. I QD afterwards. Keep in mind my cars don`t get that dirty. They are garaged at home and work and our commutes are short.

Weeks like last week, though, rain and snow, my cars get a bath every 3-4 days.

that has a black car that is almost flawless. He uses a duster and QD`er daily and doesn`t wash his car unless it is driven in the rain. Like BRAD, his car never gets that dirty, so instead of a wash bucket he just applies a few drops of Z7 RIGHT on the wash mitt, washes a panel, rinses, and moves on........

Just a word of warning on Autoglym, keep if off the trim or you will regret it. Autoglym must be one of the worst offenders of turning trim white!

richard p: Surprised that you have had a problem with the Autoglym shampoo taking away the beading effect of the sealant. I`ve been using the Autoglym products for about a year (Super Resin Polish, Extra Gloss Protection, and Shampoo) and I haven`t noticed this problem.

If I have a complaint with Autoglym it is the shampoo--but it is the opposite from your complaint---I get very little suds from their shampoo---it seems much too mild to me.

I also have layered the Extra Gloss Protection product--three times is the most I`ve done. Seems to make a bit of a difference.

One tip that could be useful is to let the Super Resin Polish or the Extra Gloss Protection dry for as long as you possibly can--especially the Extra Gloss Protection. Seems to increase the gloss of the finish when you do this.

Waxman: IMHO Super Resin Polish is a bit stronger of a cleaner than Klasse AIO.

Where do you mount your portable GPS?

Here`s a little cup-holder mount that I came up with. It`s a black lid from a can of ArmorAll Tire Foam! ancing Dot:

Fits perfectly in the cup holder.....

Thats a neat home creation. Just make sure that it does not cause you to take your eyes off the road for too long a period of time. I think a winshield mount that allows you to glance it the GPS is safer. Just make sure it does ntot obstruct your view of the road.
