I`m running out of the Mother`s QD that came with the Mother`s Clay Kit. I read somewhere that the Mother`s QD and Final Inspection does not contain carnuba. Would it be alright to use Final Inspection as the clay lubricant with the Mother`s Clay Bar?

It will work with car wash, but could streak a bit on the car. No biggie, just don`t freak when it happens! Any of those QD-ers will work fine with mothers clay. I have used it before with great results.

MercManiac, nice car you`ve got there!!

The Mother`s QD that came in the kit I bought had carnauba in it so I never used it with the claybar.

I personally find that using the diluted body shampoo works well because not only do I get the cleaning action of the clay, I also get cleaning from the soap. I get dirty dirty suds in addition to a dirty claybar.

intermezzo - our ShowtimeĂ‚® Instant Detailer does not have carnauba in it. Feel free to use it with clay, without worry.

As DK indicated, we recommend using a proper detailer as clay lube instead of a water/car soap solution, as streaking may occur.

However, I realize many have done so without bad effect. We just don`t recommend it.

I just double-checked my Mother`s QD bottle and sure enough it doesn`t say Carnauba anywhere. I wonder why I thought I read Carnauba. Thanks for the info forrest.

I definitely get streaking after using soap as a lube, but I shampoo right afterwards.

Photos from the Kohler International Concours

A few weeks back my dad and I decided to drive up to Road America for the annual Kohler International vintage race car concours event. I had never been before and had always heard good things about it, but I was blown away by the pure number of cars and people. I was stunned to hear several people mention that numbers were down this year for both entrants and attendees! It was absolutely shoulder to shoulder crowds, which made it very difficult to get a straight photo. To see and hear these vehicles drive from the track to downtown Elkhart Lake (where the concours is held) was absolutely out of this world!

This DB5 was in poor shape, and was apparently stored where it sat.

    I heart Datsuns.

    I also heart Morgans.

On the way out the driver of the Monster/Falken Mustang decided to goose it a little bit (on a closed street mind you) after which he was prompted pulled over and given a citation.

LOL @ Punk getting crazy in the Monster Mustang. That cop could have really ruined his day and possibly have the car seized. I`m sure the shareholders of "Monster" would be extremally upset over this behavior

Director If any of the decision makers from Monster happen to see this thread I am avalible to be your `Official Detailer" :-c

Thanks for posting here @ TruthInDetailing Conner. The pics are awesome =P~
