In my personel car or truck I`ve always changed my own (too poor to do anything else). In the semi I call a vendor and then the dispatcher and have him put me on the clock  (cha, ching ).

It`s hard to change out your tire here, so many cars and trucks on the road, one might not make it home........AAA for me.

After the triple AAA guy lost my wheel locks, I said no no. Plus he didnt even bring a breaker bar. I now carry one all the time with me in my car, a 1/2" drive will pop anything off.

    21!

Well, that is a difficult question to answer, since my car has run flats (HATE THEM!!!!!!) and I have no spare. However, since I live in NJ and am on roads with very heavy traffic, I would call AAA if I had the need.

    BTW, I`m over 35:wink:

Since I pay my annual fee to AAA, I`ll call them for flats (don`t occur often - knocking on wood as I type this) and jump starts even though I have good heavy duty battery cables handy.

Edit to add - I`m older than you and changed more than my fair share of flats for myself and many, many others over the years.

I have Runflats on the 03 Corvette... I`m with you, I hate `em!!! They`re hard, noisy, they wear out fast, much of your cornering ability is lost due to the stiff sidewalls.

    But you`re right..... NO SPARE!

When I replace them, they won`t be Runflats. I have a small portable compressor, tire plugs, a small electric jack and a folding 4-way wrench!

I would not even consider letting someone else change my tire.

I spent a lot (not really at all, but for me a lot) on my car and I don`t like other people touching it

    I`m 21 by the way.

I keep a Snap-On 1/2" cordless impact in the truck especially when trailering! I can change a tire on the road in under 5 minutes. Its great!

change my own..... plus even if I wanted to call AAA, many areas in the rural place I live have no cell reception. Out here in the wilderness you kinda have to be self sufficient! 44

when my wife drives in winter her car is equipped w/ blankets, food, a set of coveralls, hat and gloves plus first aid kit. That way if she goes off the road I know she`s good til help arrives.
