    Sold the Trans Am today.....

After buying the Corvette two weeks ago, I put the 2000 Trans Am on eBay and Craigslist. eBay went no where. I got 5 calls on the Craigslist ad.

A guy from Lake Stockton drove up to see the car last Sunday. We were about $2000 apart on price so I let it go.

He called me last night and said:

I`ve looked at 20 Trans Ams in the past 2 months. This is by far, the nicest one of the group and I want this car!

Needless to say, music to my ears!:drool5::drool5::drool5:

Wire transfer is done... car will be picked up tomorrow.

He asked me if I would miss the car and I said... Yeah, I`ll miss it until I turn around and see those two Vettes in the garage!!!!!

    It was a great car....

Congrats on the sale Bill! It`s always sad to see a baby leave the stable but it has a beautiful replacement to help ease the pain!

Congrats on the sale. I watched your auction on ebay. That car is like every car I`ve ever sold, all it takes in ONE person to look at it and realize the care you`ve taken and it`s gone.

I always find myself feeling like I didn`t ask enough though.

Congrats though Bill, it`s always a nice feeling to sell it to someone who will give it a good home.

Congrats! I know for myself it always hurts when you let something go, but for myself the buyer always make the difference. If I feel it "went to a good home" , it always makes it a better deal. Not to hijack your thread, but I`ll share my "best" and "worst" vehicle sale stories quickly.

One of my most cherished vehicles was a 1967 M-715 ( Military Jeep pickup 1 1/4 ton ). I found it in a pasture and totally restored it. I had a guy who dealt in military vehicles tell me it was one of the cleanest he`d ever saw. Situations dictated it had to be sold, so I did....got a very fair price. The guy who bought it lives up the mountain from me a little and he ended up just destroying it. What he did to it could take an hour to tell. I can still see it parked in front of his trailer, hasn`t moved in years. I try not to look if I`m headed that way, but I always do anyway. here is a pic, and yes...that is a whole moose in the back. I used it! (could not find my pics when it was cleaned up)

my best sale..... my 1964 Galaxie 500XL convert. Loved this car but not the most practical for Utah winters so it was looking for a new home. Got a fair price again...this time the buyer was a dream....he owned a car museum and to my knowledge there it still sits to this day. I can`t bring myself to visit her though....again a pic, although not sure why but it looks like she has 2 broken axles, maybe because it was a pic of a pic?

    She was a clean cruiser.

maybe I shouldn`t have dug out all those pics....feeling kinda sad nowBoo Hoo

It is sad to a let a car go that you have invested so much time in keeping it right. I hope it`s new home is half as good as the one it left!

The guy who bought it is just like me. Older, compulsive, anal...

He said, "This car will only come out on days when it`s 75 degrees, sunshine and no wind!!!"

    Yup... just like me!
