    Nissian Electrical Problem

I have a 94 Nissian Sentra and the insturment lights will not work....Every light on the car works and even the warning lights in the dash...The insturment lights don`t for some reason.

I have tested ever fuse....Looked the the wiring for breaks....I`m thinking that it might be a relay swtich of some sorts.....Is there a way to test these?

Its driving me crazy not to have them working not to say that with the time change coming its going to be needed.

    Thanks

Check your instrument dimmer switch(Rheostat) That is usually the culprit when cluster lights go out.

If it is the relay (it should be behind the center console of your dash or thereabouts) then you can fix it by re-soldering the contacts. It`s not as hard as it sounds, you basically hold the iron on the 2 pieces of metal that should connect count to 3 and poke some solder in there, it should flow on to the joint easily and then make a good electrical connection.

I was looking at the Rheostat yesterday dosen`t look that hard to get out and I`m sure that its cheap....that was a thought that I had only because every other light in the car works no problem

    Re: Nissian Electrical Problem

Quick update when down and looked at the console looks like I drop out two panels from the dash about 8 screws and it will lift out....Called the Nissian dealer and the part will be here Friday 41 bucks (ouch) Will replace over the weekend.....One other best part is that I can get at an area that has a buildup of dust that is on the insturment areas under the plastic lens that has been driving me crazy...LOL
