    Need new tires... Any recommendations?

hey guys, my dad said that i needed new tires before school started again. i was wondering, do you guys have any tires you would like to recommend to me? personally, heres what im looking for. i would put practicality on top (smoothness, endurance, etc.) on top, the looks in the middle, and the preformance on the bottom. im not really looking to race anyone anytime soon, so i dont really need the preformance. price is an incentive, but not an incredibly big one. your advice would be appreciated! thanks

    Hi zesty_man,

I put some Falken ZE-512`s on my Accord 2 years ago & I`ve been very pleased with the tire wear, appearance, and wet driving performance.

They were the top rated all-season tire in the Nov. `03 Consumer Report, check it out if you can find the issue.

He`s a link to the estore I bought from but I`m sure you can find them almost anywhere.

Check tirerack for tires. You drive a beemer if I`m not mistaken, and they seem to have better deals for less super-common tires. While it doesn`t help me with my Taurus or CRX it might help you with your lower production volume BMW.

Are those tires 225/45 17s or 225/45/18s? If they are then I would reccomend getting Birdgestone turanzas, they`re original equipment tires for the 325i with sport package, my friend has them and they`re great. We were going 75 mph through a turn that had a suggested speed of 15 mph with no squealing and no travelling into other lanes. They last a long time too and they react nicely to a variety of tire shines.

`89 Honda CRX Si- Primer black, fast.

I like the BFGoodrich Traction T/A`s. Provide excellent grip and fairly good price.

Pirelli PZero Nero M&S are a great balance of performance to ride quality...Leaning toward better ride than flat out performance. Look great too.

Based on tirerack customer comments, I was going to buy a set of Pirelli P Nero Zeros .... until I read comments about the Falkens elsewhere.

Continental ContiExtremes were also on the short list with the Pirelli`s but I choose to buy Falkens .... any of the three would be an excellent choice, especially for wet weather handling.

Re: Need new tires... Any recommendations?

I read great things about the Falkens as well, especially the Ziex ZE 512 which topped Consumer Reports testing. I got the Pirellis from a friend who bought a new 2005 Stang. He put on bigger rims and tires, so I got them from him for next to nothing. If I was buying a new set, I`d have a hard time picking, there is a lot to choose from and all seem very capable. I think any of the tires mentioned above would work well.

    Hancook Ventus HRII.

Best bang for the buck IMO. www.discounttiredirect.com . We put them on Liz`s Saab and noticed much more grip and they tear through rain without a problem.

I`ll put another vote in for the Falken Ziex ZE 512. Put a set on the wife`s `97 Prelude and have been very happy with the wet performance, long treadlife, and very reasonable price. Much better than the OEM Bridgestone RE92s.

I`ve got Michelin Pilot Sport A/S and they are good, but Hankook tires are cheap and another alternative.

Re: Need new tires... Any recommendations?

As someone else said go to www.tirerack.com and see the best sellers for your car. Then read the reviews and see which one you think suits your needs the best. When I was going to buy an RSX from NY the tires looked like they need to be replaced, so when I looked them up at tire rack it seemed to me Yokohamas and Kumhos were priced very good, with very high reviews. If my car needed new tires i`d probably go with the Yokohama Avid 4Vs, i`ve read lots of good things about them and they aren`t to hard on the wallet.

"Unfortunately" my RSX came with BRAND NEW Goodyear Eagle LSs, so I don`t need to worry about tire shopping for a while :crazy
