    Curb Rash

I bought some 2001 GT rims for my 98 V6 (looks freaking awsome too) but the rims are pretty curb-rashed. How can i fix it/ where can i fix it? thanks. this is the closet i could find, but mine is deeper and goes all the way around the wheel (all 4).

The guy did an awesome job. I guess the hardest part is to find the paint that will match.

what happens when its time to get a new wheel put on...those guys arent really 100% careful when mounting new tires...bondo would just crack right off.
SHIFT_infinti, because nissan sounds so cheap!

    Re: Curb Rash

An important step has been left off....when adding bondo to a wheel you are also adding weight. The wheel would then need to be high-speed balanced .
If you do decide to do something like this, find a tire repair place that can use tape weights.:hippi
life is short ..do it while you can

It may save you a headache and I can vouch for the nice job they did on my old rims.

That would really depend on how bad the curb rash is that enough bondo be added to throw off the balance.

Yeah typically you go to that kind of place when you NEED to get your rim fixed because you can`t buy a new one for whatever reason. For example my roomate has a set of CPR blue inscriptions in 16`s which are harder to find than .................... well hard to find. If he ever curbed one thats where he would take it.

Bentrim.com also sells refurbished replacement wheels. For my car, a replacement wheel is $169 compared to $250 from my dealer. Not bad.
