Tire Pressure tips....

With the ever rising cost of gas, every little thing you can do to improve mileage helps. I`m also a fanatic about my vehicles up-keep (not just detailing

). That said, keeping your tires properly inflated is helpful. Here`s a nice link to some great info on that subject.

Your tire pressure is fine........... the problem is the vehicle sitting on them!

so true...with gas prices at $2.13 here in pa, and a 4.3 motor that loves gas, everything helps! best you can do i check the pressure and keep your ride TUNED UP. plugs--filters--fluids etc..

$2.55 for regular. . . :boohoo and it`s supposed to go UP!! Very informative article. As part of my full detail package I have been gauging my customers tires and documenting the psi on their invoice. After the service I will fill their tires to the level they request. Raises an eyebrow for sure.

Determining the correct tire pressure for you car can take a little experimenting to get the right pressure that gives the best mileage in different temperature conditions as well as a ride that you are satisfied with. I have found that my CR-V get 1 more mpg as well as better cornering at this time for year in Portland OR with the tires at 28 instead of the recommended 26. As long as you don`t exceed the max psi for the tire, you should be okay trying out different fill pressures. I purchased as small 12V tire inflator from NAPA for 20 bucks and a decent tire gauge and do my own in the driveway. It has been a great investment, one I would recommend to all. It runs off the car`s power and can be taken on trips etc... It also includes adapters for bike tires, wheelbarrows etc. It will pay for itself fairly quickly and is so much more convenient that going to the gas station as well as more accurate.
