Maybe some form of an adhesive to prevent it from peeling more?

I`m afraid this peeling meaning failure of the top coat. I cannot be stopped and must be stripped and refinished.`

I was thinking chunks of leather tearing off for some reason. I think I get the picture now.... Like David said, needs to be refinished.

Refinishing would certainly help. Top coat does become at times difficult to maintain.

I`ve been able to arrest such degradation on my Tahoe by keeping things clean and occasionally treating the creacked/peeled area (using either Sonus or Leather Masters on that vehicle). When I bought it everybody said "you`ve gotta recover those" but it`s been years now and the damage hasn`t gotten any worse.
I did trim a few of the worst areas so the peeled-up stuff wouldn`t snag or get pulled (and thus get worse), might want to consider that depending on how bad yours are.
The "do what you can" approach, applied to both cleaning/condioning and ongoing maintenance just might let you avoid the costly refinishing/recovering. If the leather seems to be in *really* fragile condition I`d go with the Leather Doctor system including the fat-liquoring process, but I didn`t need to get that involved with the Tahoe to get satisfactory results.
