My friend has a 2005 Ford F150 he hated the stereo. He replaced a few thing with JL components. It sound greats. I dont remember what he did but I will ask him this weekend and let you know
It`s highly unlikely that you have line level outputs on your factory head unit, and speaker level to the amp is not the best way to go (even though many good amps will take speaker level). The best way to to it is to use a line-level converter placed just before the amp. Run your speaker wires back to it, then run the shortest RCA cables possible between it and the amp. Scosche makes a good one which is available for about $20 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-UMRp3f8....asp?i=142SLC4
PAC also makes a good one in the same price range.
